someone asked what was your first car. Mine was a Jenson interceptor, (silver) no one, for whatever reason believed me. I'm still puzzled over that. It would cost a fortune now, I imagine.

Be fair that’s an unusual first car even back when they were cheap! Personally I couldn’t have afforded the gas!

Would that be the 1950 Jensen Interceptor - basically an Austin, or the later V8?
By the way, it is Jensen, not Jenson.

Had work cars and motorcycles first. but my first car was an Austin Maestro van. Did a few trips around the South Island in it with mates, it had a crack in the block so you had to keep an eye on engine temps. It was a dunger, but good fun.

Billy Bunter Hillman Hunter, 4sp Auto. Paid $3500 in '82, and later on when changing a flat tyre, found a really good digital watch in the spare-wheel well. First car and first digital watch.
Hubby says he had what he thinks was the Anglia version a few years before I met him. It was a 2 door. He says eventually he fitted a 2 Litre V4 into it. Had some fun doing that. In it was fast afterwards.

My first car. I loved that little thing and had some fun in it too. Especially on the back seat (wink, wink). From memory I was 16 or 17. Lol.

My 1st car,. [had a few motorbikes as well], was a Mini I bought of one of elderly customers that came into our 4square store. It was mint cond, and still was when I sold it a few months later when I headed off to OZ.

Mini 850. Got 7 people in it once to drive them home. Another time, went away with a mate and taking a few others, had a puncture, went to get a jack out and they just lifted the car so I could change the tyre.

A holden kingswood, i wont be owneing another one anytime soon with what they fetch now, it cost me 300$ and an old trail bike, it lasted me a whole year with a busted crankshaft and would thump like anything for 30 seconds after starting from cold, then it got a 5spd commodor gearbox and the motor out of a ute i brought and crashed later that had a full race camshaft, and a twin barrel holly and extractors, the utes demise was down to sunstrike, it had the power to spin up near new 235 wide tyres without thrashing it, but silly me went for a v8 in it and sold it without finishing it, 400$ for the car shell and bugger all for the motor as it had spun a bearing after its recon on the last owner, if i had it now i wouldent be selling it but it had a reasonably straight and rust free shell so it would be worth a few grand running with the old six still in it that i put in.

I scored the ute because it wouldent do skids with allmost balled tyres with the motor it had, what was wrong is it had low compression repco pistons installed for 91 octane gas, so it had a huge carb with a race cam and less compression than standard, so as soon as i put a 186 head on it with high compression it realy spun up, and with good tyres and wide mags when it went in my other car, i still have the pistons as i dont know what the hell they are, they are much bigger than the largest standard oversize and have no markings on them other than repco, and yes the ute got better tyres before it crashed.
