to my fellow car dealers who share the same year end 31/3/31 tax year. Final tally? 201 cars sold. Not bad for a sole trader with no staff and doing it all myself. Considering the 3 month lock down, I can't believe I sold that many cars. Not a record, but I'm pretty happy with that. Whether I made any money or not, is a different story. lol.

Sounds good to me, but if you’re not making money you could always look into property investment.

Congrats. That's an impressive number Likely averaging more than 1 sale per trading day.
I'm not in the industry, but It seems there are no shortage of buyers this year, and that appears to be true at many price brackets.
When I privately sold my 2006 corolla hatch, it was gone for what I considered a fair price within 24 hours of listing.
Seems to also apply to new cars (or there are big issues getting stock). Honda has sold out of all but the highest spec jazz. Suzuki still has a waitlist on the Jinmy. Toyota has sold out of the Hot GR Yaris, Landcruiser Prado, Landcruiser 200 & Troopy/Wagon variants of the Landcruiser 70. 6 Month wait-list on all hilux.
How's stock availability for you?

Suzuki has put the prices up for their Jimny due to demand. And most euro dealers are struggling with stock, esp their new car stock and used/trade-in stock at the moment,it seems. The buyers are definitely out there, even during covid, they were splurging out $250K for cars etc The housing boom is definitely keeping the market up for sure as a lot of commercials are selling too.
