Doesnt matter the greenies are going to ban fossil fuels .

As has been noted before, life on earth (animal and vegetable) is carbon based. All growing things use it as a the base of their lifecycle. We are in cloud cuckoo land if we thing we can significantly reduce it.

But Politicians are naturally 'in cloud cuckoo land'. This is their normal habitat. That's why they cause as much crap as they help to stop. And they're born with an innate sense of self belief. But the public reckons they're the least trusted people around, (as per evey survey ever done). Yet they have more power to change society for both good and bad than anyone else. What a crazy world.

American streets use to smell like axle grease and prior to mid 60s ish old shells could be seen rotting on the side of the road, you get the councle involved, then people driving smokey clapped out bangers full of rust you get the authorities on to it, then someone thinks hay i can write petrol cars of the road and make a heap of money, then there is a problem lol, everyone has caused this mess, can you imagine the knicker twisting that would be happening if people were still "fireing' cars, one accident and you would be saying its the eleits fault or something, instead of not careing.

Before cars, there were horses. I read about New York prior to the takeover of vehicles. The roads were just round stones with a mix of ash & clay holding them there, dangerous footing for people, one slip could mean death via a broken collarbone, hip or arm. Horses everywhere since they were slow & only worked 6-8 hrs a day,
Stables had preference over houses since a horse was a form of income, same with hay & straw, land that could produce food was wasted when it was used to grow horse fodder. So low housing conditions, expensive but low quality food for people. Horse shit everywhere, it carried tetanus too. Stables needed cleaning & the crap & rotting straw needed to be disposed of. To the point where you couldn't leave home without somebody staying there, it was common to employ house sitters if you went on holiday, or arrive home to find somebody's opened the basement doors & filled your basement with horse shit.
Once cars were introduced, in 3 years they took over, less vehicles on the street, proper road surfaces since the city just taxed the fuel to pay for it. Cars worked 24hrs a day, freeing up the stables to be turned into housing, food got cheaper, and fresher, people's health improved & there were better jobs, a fall or tetanus was as common & ment greater security to income & against poverty for most family's.
Times change, things get better, that's the only constant.

The problem is its never good enough, soon enough we wont be trusted to drive and the cars computer will do that for us, we should have left the streets smelling like axle grease and littered with 50s style chevies for a few more decades to keep the whingers at bay.

I couldn't imagine people assing of on horse dung and breaking collar bones would be to bothered by tailpipe fumes or someone else,s paintjob, one wreck on the street in the 90s and every curtain twitcher would be driving the council insane about it, because it "devalues" the street, they lost there human value to begin with.

Very interesting article from Dog & Lemon guide 2016. Called A Long Way From Paradise. Well worth the read.

Specious argument that does not follow. "All" carbon is not the issue, carbon based life? Know of any life forms that are exclusively made of carbon? No, its an irrelevant reduction to absurdity and just plain daft. As silly as claiming that because a particular hoon committed a hit and run they now want to ban all drivers, so good luck with that. Yeah, you tell em!
And if it were just about prevalence of a given element as a whole Silicon and Aluminium have carbon beat several times over in terms of abundance, number 2 and number 3 behind carbons sorry 17th but of course, that's not the issue is it, its not about "All" carbon. It does not follow.
Nice cup of aluminium tea? Great for the brain of a carbon based life form.
