I regularly get passed by loaded 42 tonners when I'm doing 90mph. The M6/M61 is the worst mw there for speeding. No point even debating this in NZ until the roads and driving standards here are raised.

By all means take YOUR time but for those of us who are self-employed, charging our clients travelling time, I don't think they'd appreciate the lowering of my productivity, when they are paying me to improve theirs!
Two hours at 100kph or 4 hours at 50kph!Its a no brainer - especially as the pollution at 50kph in 4th gear is also 50% worse than travelling in 6th.
If you want to dawdle and smell the roses, take public transport or use a push-bike.

Transit have infact cleared the expressway to 100kph but the TCC wish to keep it at 80 but a better limit would be 90kph

Somebody years ago sold Telecom, so $700 million a year goes directly overseas to BellSouth Atlantic.
We would be driving on roads like the F3 in Australia right now, instead of our two-lane goat track.

If the money collected under the guise of road improvement was used for that purpose we'd have a 6 lane highway from Cape Reinga to Bluff and a bridge across Cook Strait.

Some 100k areas should remain 100k but some like for example south of Takanini should be 110-120k and definatly the new motorway to Hamilton with its dual lanes should be 120k.
