I cant help but wonder, why do people take perfectly good looking cars and put body kits on them, and ruin them. Considering the cost and the ugly factor, why do they do it! Does it make them go faster!

I cant help but wonder, why do people make useless posts and should mind their own business!

in some cases it will make the car faster (on a track)
frogs61,
Nov 24, 7:04pm
No it doesn't!

yes it does. Its the only reason people put body kits on their cars. I pulled the body kit of my honda 1600 vtec coz it was so damn ugly. My car went much slower after that. Not only that but I lost 30kph off the top end. Instead of doing 280kph, it could only do 250kph.

FP, it's not all of the bodykit thats important, it's only the rear wing that makes you go faster, cos it makes your car just like an aeroplane.I'd suggest maybe you put the rear wing back on, and possibly add another one on each side of the car.

isnt that what they call a plane

If you do that, make sure to put some really big shiny chrome wheels on it otherwise it may lift off the ground (did you not understand why the big chromy wheels are important!)

Pffft Hondas are faster than planes. Vtech yo.

was talking to a guy today that had a set of 20 inch rims and tyres he was having troubles with. I asked what they were off. He said a chrysler 300. could you imagine it! He reckoned the ride was extremely harsh. But that didnt matter coz the owner thought they looked cool lol.

If one was to go back in time to the days of gravel roads. and pot holes. One could sell tickets to the event. of **ricers in tears** with broken body kits and smashed wheels.

Factory Kits are nice. Anything else I think looks pretty ugly. Waste of time and money. You only devalue the car if you want to sell it.

I guess it is personal preference. What appeals to many does not appeal to me and vice versa. The one thing I hate about almost all of the bloody things is that they are made from fibreglass and prone to cracks and splits compared to whatever was there from the factory being polyeurethane and have some degree of flexibility. I'd happily hang an FPV Typhoon kit on my XR6 if it wasn't made of fibreglass.

Second that time after time they tell you what they are for and when say the front kit breaks they lose speed. OP is what 12yrs old!

What I don't understand is flashy chrome mags on a piece of crap car with no other mods.
WHY!

To express one's individuality silly. Trouble is, all those non conformist are the same.
