got my car impounded last month, how much would the fee be for 28day storage plus towing! lock-up yard is 25kays from were it got impounded.

i have been given 3 different prices. cops said 180, 2 mates said 300 or 400. sustained loss of traction. just had 4 brand new tyres on and it was pooring with rain, took off at a intersection and spun a wheel. ABS kicked in and stopped it, but cop wasnt happy.

I have to work really hard in the Alfa not to get wheelspin in the rain. Just very light in the back, lumpy cams and a very early and brutal LSD.
Not justifying things for the OP or not here just saying, some cars its almost an inevitability in the wet. Not many cars around like that though.

traction control uses the abs to stop the appropriate wheel from spinning, you WILL feel an abs pulse when it activates.

I have battled with a towie, police and various other organisations and I have won a refund and there is a promise that there will be a police investigation into towies that do not charge the correct amounts (particularly ones that do not give the 3 free days - which must be given even when an appeal is not made). I have also had the factsheet63 updated very recently (twice). I am not popular with the Auckland towie. To check out the costs - google 'factsheet 63 impound' - if your car was towed during the weekday it should be $53.66 for the tow plus $3.06 for each of the 15 extra kilometers. If it was weekend or night it will be $71.55 for the tow plus $3.06 for each of the 15 extra kilometers (you are allowed 10 and after that you get charged extra). Then you have to add on storage for 25 days @$12.2664 per day ($306.66).
Presuming you were towed at night it will cost you $71.55 (towage at night) + $45.90 (for the extra k's) + $306.66 (storage for 25 days or 28 less the three) = 421.11 incl GST rounded down to the nearest 10 cents if paying cash = $421.10
Ask for a tax invoice receipt which should itemise each thing they have charged you for eg number of days etc.If they try to charge you for 28 days report it to the police immediately.

Yes gota pay first b4 you can take your car,.and i think its about 12 dollars a day after that,haven't got my car impounded for a while ,last time i payed 360.It depends on a few things ,somtimes could b around 400
