Poster 3 is correct they are called Grain ofWeat globe
They are very very very common in the electronics industryjust because the car shops don't sell them doesn't mean they aren't common
Try going to your local electronics repair store They are used mostly to illuminate displays etc in electronic items .
Just pull them out of the plastic base and thread in a new one
Some car parts shops will sell the complete thing hella or narva

If BNT have these on the shelf I'll eat my left testicle.

Cheers, though the globe itself looks alot shorter than the current one i doubt that it will make much differance, so that should work

chooken1, Jan 3, 6:08am

RS are in Penrose on the Gt South Rd, just south of the Fire Station & BOC Gases but on the opposite side.

bigfatmat1, Jan 3, 7:27am
have some in my work van but these days i tend not to use them i have a narva kit with about 20 diff kinds of dash bulbs already in holders so saves the hassle of extracting the bulb which are sometimes melted in If ya auto sparkie is no help twak em in the head tell him pans and civic both sell them and not to be so lazy

kazbanz, Jan 3, 8:14am
ginga- DEFINITELY you can buy the bulbs from an auto sparkie but they are NOT a standard wedge bulb. you have to unpick the wire from the bulb holder and then do the reverse refitting the darn thing. I usually take the whole thing to the sparkie

jasongroves, Jan 3, 8:42am
No, strangely they look like the photos he posted much earlier.;)

hi-ling, Jan 3, 8:47am
Yeah but in those pics it had the bases on them, this is the bare bulb

Try a Hobby shop where they sell trains etc

ginga4lyfe, Jan 3, 10:18am
I will do, as others have also said/recommended this, but only if Rs ( the closest to me at the moment ) cannot give me what i need

Brilliant

A Toyota what!

Took a while to even get that much out.
When you find out what it is, go to a Wrecker, or ordering a new one might be cheaper in time.

ginga4lyfe, Jan 5, 4:09am
so I went to RS components, got the part number 655-9198 and got my 3mm 12v 10000 hour grain wheat bulbs at 2 bucks a piece, and now i have all my selector lights and Overdrive warning lights back :) I also replaced the 220micro farad 16volt capacitor on the rev counter, and alls back together and working perfectly :) cheers for all the help, oh and outlookas it was a 93 Toyota Caldina cz
