pup2, Jan 3, 1:56am
Grain of wheat bulb, sparky shop should have em.

bubbles244, Jan 3, 1:57am
yeah, Vy holdens have similar fitting, supercheap auto

clark20, Jan 3, 1:57am

ginga4lyfe, Jan 3, 2:01am
been there, they pulled a book like repco and auto one had done that showed similar listings to that clark20's links had showed, None of which are the same, I may just have to go to a wrecker or a toyota dealership when they open again.

Try autostop .

cocabowla, Jan 3, 3:47am
if it comes out of that base when we sold them in the bike trade w/sale we called them wedge base :

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wedge_base

i'd be surprised if repco didnt stock them , they're common number plate light bulb for nissans and the like as well as bike instrument panels etc (sizes may vary )

chooken1, Jan 3, 3:50am
There are common, go into your local BNT Automotive shop, they should help you.

luxy, Jan 3, 3:52am
go to a dismantler

chooken1, Jan 3, 4:10am
Why would anyone go to a dismantler for a bulb!

ginga4lyfe, Jan 3, 4:34am
i should stipulate. If they were common i would have been able to get them, so they are NOT as common as one would think, as i said, the wire goes through the base and wraps around the sides to connect to the pcb, they are not the wedge type either

chooken1, Jan 3, 4:40am
Well you are going to the wrong places, because I sell them at work, so I can tell you, you can buy them new.

granada, Jan 3, 4:41am
Most auto sparkies will have a good selection of dash globe holders etc similar or same as Narva catalogue.Suggest you take a sample into them and match it up

alan1111, Jan 3, 4:51am
wedge bulbs hell even a service station sells them.

ginga4lyfe, Jan 3, 4:55am
its NOT a wedge Bulb!

ginga4lyfe, Jan 3, 4:59am
going to the wrong places! so ur saying the people that pull the narva catalogs are the wrong places!

tonyrockyhorror, Jan 3, 5:07am
Jaycar have them.

gunhand, Jan 3, 5:08am
people who pull out the catalogs still have to be able to use them LOL, some can not. That bulb is as you say a two prong one and shouldnt be that hard to find. Its not a wedge as they have no prongs. Im sure Ive seen listings for the 2 prong small ones in a past life. go ask a long termer at repco etc they may have seen one before and know what there looking for. Theres lots of things you dont see for ages if at all in those places but that dosnt mean its not there LOL.

kingfisher21, Jan 3, 5:12am
These bulbs are TINY, NOT the ones most of you guys are thinking of, they are commonly called grain of wheat bulbs and are 5mm or 3mm, they are hard to get, I normally go to wreckers and get them from there.

chooken1, Jan 3, 5:14am
I dont know where you went, but I sell them, so I must know something.

ginga4lyfe, Jan 3, 5:21am
I have been to jaycar, super cheap, ripco, autoone , but yes I think they are called wheet grain globe, and yes they are about a third the size of my pinky finger, it is as kingfisher says

chooken1, Jan 3, 5:22am
BNT will help you, you went to the rest now go to the best.

socram, Jan 3, 5:32am
Because you can come out with a fistful of small stuff such as lamps for peanuts.Dad and I years ago used to trawl the local yard and generally came home with a pile of switches, working lamps (we took a tester with us) and various other small bits and pieces. We usually added one large cheap item such as a washer bottle but boy was it cost effective. So much so that I am still using stock we accquired over 30 years ago!

gadgit3, Jan 3, 5:36am
I got a few in stock. And ya local Toyota (if not on the shelf) can have them over night as TNZ have them on the shelf.

chooken1, Jan 3, 5:37am
Oh for goodness sake, I know what wreckers have, and they are becoming very popular with a lot of car parts that one cannot access new, but I cant understand why someone would go toa wrecker for a bulb when they are readily available off the shelf. If the OP cant find a bulb its because the place he went to dont do it or the counter staff didnt know what they were doing.
