When I indicate to change a lane, I am not asking your permisson to enter ''your'' lane, I am letting you know that I am going to enter your lane.It is cutomary to let me in ,not speed up so that i miss my turnoff, yes I'm talking to you ,the driver of a blue Ipsum( or something equally as dull ) ,in Redwood ,chch on Wednesday evening.

superdave0_13, Feb 26, 3:12pm
You held that in for three days. Well done.

hounddog2, Feb 26, 3:17pm
Why were you not already in the appropriate lane!

neo_psy, Feb 26, 3:26pm
+1.

Were you trying to make up spaces and push into the turning off lane at the last minute rather than queue up with all the plebs!

whynot7, Feb 26, 3:26pm
he was to busy boy racing with the car in front an missed the exit sign

socram, Feb 26, 3:56pm
Maybe if people used the right lane(s) for overtaking and then pulled back left again, we'd all be in the correct lane all of the time.

Its a Kiwi thing.

clark20, Feb 26, 3:58pm
You are only showing an intent, it is still your responsibility to make sure the lane is clear before you move. Insurance companies don't allow the excuse "but he was indicating"

morrisjvan, Feb 26, 4:53pm
thats exactally where i was trying to be,the other car was back behind me and as soon as i wanted to change, sped up above the speed limit to stop me, i missed my turning and cosequently my fish and chips .

Lucky you didn't find a liquifaction hole in the road in the process like some poor blighters have up there!

ema1, Feb 26, 6:03pm
Next time be in the lane you intend to turn from earlier on OK.quite simple really.last minute lane changes are dicey at the best of times due to exactly what you experienced.

saxman99, Feb 26, 6:11pm
.what is this 'indicating' you speak of!

gunhand, Feb 26, 6:11pm
I I I I , that sort of somes you up I think.
Maybe, just maybe there are a few stressed out people up there at the moment.
Good to see thats all you have to complain about or is it the straw that brroke the camels back! And theres always two side to all storys.

Follow him home and beat him half to death with a hammer. That's what they do in Auckland.

Had a similar thing happen to me this afternoon. But for me it was the other guy who was wanting to merge across from the right lane.

The other guy's rear bumper was actually ahead of my front fender when he began indicating that he wanted to merge left. I was staring at his rear left tail blinker through my front windscreen at the time.

I lift off the gas because I presume he's going to merge ahead of me. But NO he/she/the chimpanzee driving begins to slow down. WTF.

We are both traveling at the same reduced speed now, and he's not speeding up any. So at this point I take it that he intends for me to pass him. So I put my foot back onto the throttle with the intention to do just that.

So I'm almost at his side coming up to overtake when he flogs the gas, cuts in front of me just in time to make his left-hand exit.

So let's get this straight. Simply because some joker didn't change lanes when he had the cnance to, leaving it to the last minute and thus deciding to force his way in. an accident could have happened, two lanes of traffic got held up, and I was given a honking. Does that sound right!

aragorn2003, Feb 26, 6:52pm
my advice which i'm sure your not looking for , as i think your just venting your frustration , is to get into the lane well before you have to take drastic measures.

from your post it makes me think your the type to speed up to 'line cut' everyone , those type of people will always get that kind of treatment from me

74nova, Feb 26, 7:15pm
With your family in the car watching. Drain dead fu!kers.

tractor9, Feb 26, 7:23pm
My advise is buy a tank. I find that everybody lets me in with not too much of an arguement and people are usually very courteous.

johnf_456, Feb 26, 8:54pm
+1 you sound the like sort that weaves in out of lanes on the motorway because the traffic is not going fast enough for your liking. Simple be in the right lane, dont try move 3 lanes over, I see it time and time again. Or perhaps try moving into a proper sized gap without making the other drive brake and alter his speed and following distance.

johnf_456, Feb 26, 8:57pm
bingo

ema1, Feb 26, 10:39pm
Guarantee he/she didn't even look to see if anyone(you) were close by before deciding to change lanes .observation is the name of the game and NZders at hellish poor at it might I say!

gilligan2, Feb 26, 11:28pm
They were on this time last weekend.

icemans1, Feb 26, 11:50pm
keep left unless passing

icemans1, Feb 26, 11:53pm
are you one of those people that cross 2 lanes just in time to get off the motorway

johnf_456, Feb 27, 5:02am
I he fits the bill

big.b-lil.c, Feb 27, 6:56am
