I worked for Repco part time at high school then through uni.At the end of the day it comes down to the money and what hours you are willing to work (Recpo open 7 days. you might end up on Sundays etc)I'd personally look at moving up (assuming you plan on staying there a while) to a reps position.See who has one going.Looks far better to a future employer than a counter jumper and you get more options from customers as well.

Word of warning, you will be surprised (or not) who monitors these message boards. Be carefull what you say. Trust me I know.

I guess I should go to an interview and see what BNT are offering, it won't be hard for them to beat Repco.Been there 5 years, have a good relationship with most of the trade customers, got mystery shopped on retail and scored 100%, constantly show willingness to do extra hours when required etc etc and they still pay me sh!t.

its called ripco for good reason.

Let them monitor away, customers have the right to check out the competitions prices to make sure they're not being ripped off and employees have a right to check out their wages to make sure they're not being ripped off.

I think he was meaning prospective employers monitoring these messageboards.

No I mean repco monitor these boards. looking for employes slagging them off or giving away information. Its called talking to the media without permisson and a dismissable offence.
bjdw,

Oh well, they might make the decision for me then!

I've lasted five years because I do my job well. The original purpose of the thread was just to find out which company MBers prefer from a customers point of veiw. It's all mostly seeming to go one way so far.

I understand BNT have a better wage rate which wouldnt be to hard.
Unfortunatly most people dont have a clue about the inner workings of repco and shove blame where blame shouldnt always be shoved.

How long you been working for them now!

I will only ever buy parts from repco (rip every poor c### off) as a last resort. I got sick to death of getting home pulling old part out only to discover they had given me the wrong part. happened more often than not. Plus even with my trade card they are generally more expensive than say partsmaster/ BNT. But in terms of your job. go with highest pay and most scope for progression, besides if you stay at Repco you could be part of the solution to the problem, work your way into a management position and try and change things. Orjump ship no one could blame you!
