I used to live in Adelaide and watching the faces of british/euro backpackers arriving from Perth in there cars was priceless, burnt arms, bad backs, dehydrated, cramps etc etc (i worked at a backpackers). Nothing like a non-stop 24hr drive through nothing.

One of my workmates drove from Townsville to Adelaide in 27 hours.From memory it's about 2000km. Was like a zombie when he got out of the truck. Drugs can get you doing stupid things sometimes.

May 2007 Sydney to Perth 42 hrs in a vito van, yes it was two up. I have driven Perth to Hedland straight up a few times but thats only 1800 km's. Could tell many stories of waking up to gravel under the wheels which is one of the reasons i chucked the long distance driving. Good ole Kevin Otway used to love pushing us.

I did Adelaide to Brisbane non-stop a long while ago in a Toyota 4wd, most of the way with the hand throttle pulled full out.Worst part was I only had one cassette, Neil Diamond's Hot August Night, still stick my fingers in my ears when I hear it.

yeah got a 3 bike trailer so would of been more than happy to do that for you, was almost going to mention on here that I was heading down that way but only made my mind up on friday night.
