the sentra had the exhaust out the side, but to be honest, it lowered the ground clearance, and roared in my r/h ear, so last week, had it all cut off, and stuck out the back. gotta get it on the dyno now thou cause i have lost a heap of mid-range power.

Thats interesting, The sentra cup has factory headers doesnt it! Are they 4-2-1 or 4-1!Do you think you have created a fair bit more restriction by moving the exit to the rear!

4-1. yeah, i think it gave it back-pressure. but win/win - old exhaust was loud, and annoying. looked silly. new one out the back is quieter, and gives me ground clearance. and it needed to get to the dyne beforehand anyway. did also wonder if the link may have spiked, or dumped it data/parameters during welding. dunno.

I reckon that would be pretty unlikely if you earthed the welder on the exhaust itself and disconnected the battery too. Those the the two precautions I took when welding the exhaust on the mazda

Well I bought a neglected race one that has most of those bits (though not quite as full-on as you describe) but is also powered by a nicely & extensively modified MGA engine.Part way through getting it up to track-ready.The Morrie is a great little car even in standard form so I am very happy to have a wild one in my old age!
