No it does not revolve around me I stated a fact and some want to get all groany about it. Like why all the hate for a valid comment, I just assumed most would feel the same about sharing the road with drunks. So for a valid comment its a tad over the top. With his first comment taking a big swipe.

johnf_456, Jun 28, 9:44pm
Yes! It was a question. Has he did not seem to like my comment about drunk drivers.

unclejake, Jun 28, 9:57pm
I withdraw my "tosser' label as it was given in haste, but you accused a man you don't know of a crime, simply because he made a light hearted remark

I will not respond further so the last word can be yours

sr2, Jun 28, 10:32pm
LOL, that explains it!

andrea_w, Jun 28, 10:39pm
.and it happens again.

robotix1970, Jun 28, 10:55pm
HOLLY CRAP! that is sung by enrique iglesias . excellent song as with r.e.m. everybody hurts

robotix1970, Jun 28, 11:01pm
"DD's" . hmm it took me a minute to think about that comment, then i had a horrible thought flashing through my mind of dolly parton with "jumbo's" the size of the titanic "LSHISMS"

robotix1970, Jun 28, 11:12pm
john, I hope i'm not being rude, But if i see a drunk driver on the road i would have no problem in stopping them from hurting anyone other than their own pride cause if and a big "IF" (only as an example) if you found out that a drunk driver killed someone that you know like a son or daughter,. you would probably be devistated. And yes 10yrs ago we have seen first-hand a car vs concrete power pole and yes the female driver died . it was a mother of three children whom were all under the age of 5yrs (no i do not work for the ambulance service)

angelab, Jun 28, 11:42pm
Go on johnboy, (Woops, thats johnf_456! . Did mummy really name you that!), Get your alter ego to fit up dem der undies. Yes. My ban is up. We all know it wasn't you, so don't harp on. If you aren't the hating dobsterthen someone else hates you enough to sick the mummy mods onto everyone you confront, causing you to look like a t**t. Why do you think they are doing that! What kind of car do you drive! How do you earn a living !Lots of people hear your advice but wonder if you are as clueless as they themselves are. Everyone knows what Phil W, bigFatmat, Fish ,Zeph, Kabnz,Attitude, etc do for a living but still no one can trust your advice because you hide behind an alter ego. Waiting. Probably hear from a mod first eh!Peace, love and mung beans, Vaughan.

this one's for gilligan2
When the day is long and the night, the night is yours alone,
When you're sure you've had enough of this life, well hang on
Don't let yourself go, 'cause everybody cries and everybody hurts sometimes
Sometimes everything is wrong. Now it's time to sing along
When your day is night alone, (hold on, hold on)
If you feel like letting go, (hold on)
When you think you've had too much of this life, well hang on
'Cause everybody hurts. Take comfort in your friends
Everybody hurts. Don't throw your hand. Oh, no. Don't throw your hand
If you feel like you're alone, no, no, no, you are not alone
If you're on your own in this life, the days and nights are long,
When you think you've had too much of this life to hang on
Well, everybody hurts sometimes,
Everybody cries. And everybody hurts sometimes
And everybody hurts sometimes. So, hold on, hold on
Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on
Everybody hurts. You are not alone

robotix1970, Jun 29, 12:25am

robotix1970, Jun 29, 12:37am
well i'm off to get some "ugly-sleep" so see ya in "the-year-dot"

johnf_456, Jun 29, 6:18am
No need for that dramtisation, there was nothing wrong with my advice and you have yet to explain why. Except for harping on about the past, I simple do not tolerate workshop banter like a lot seam to think its ok. Alot do know what I do for a job but if you are clueless dont blame.

Perhaps add something useful, rather trying to be personal and seeking to be a gossip queen. This is motoring not a girl chat of each others personal lives. Lastly dont mock the name, it just politeness and courteous to use the trading name. We dont know each other personally, but heck all thisbecause I say one comment about hating on drunks. Alot do know what I do for a job but if you are clueless dont blame.

Since he seamed to dislike the comment enough to make a song about it.

johnf_456, Jun 29, 6:45am
If you read the comment it was a question, there was a question mark at the end of the comment. Please read it again.

johnf_456, Jun 29, 6:46am
I am not sure if you read my first comment but this is pretty much what I said. Ditto you are like me I have no problem at all for stopping a drunk for safety sake and the sake of everyone and there loved one lives. There is no cost on a life and no amount of money will bring someone back, which is why the best thing to do is try and not let them take that risk to begin with.

sr2, Jun 29, 7:08am
Why is it that every time I click on what appears to be an interesting thread it end up being Johnno arguing against the rest of the world!

xacoon, Jun 29, 7:11am
oh dear here we go again.
I find it amusing how folk consider driving "drunk" (most consider one bottle to be drunk it seems) the most haenous crime you can commit, yet toke up all night son, you can "sober" drive for us. never mind what other factors come into it, if the driver has even looked at a bottle of cough medicine in the last week, alcohol is the immediate blame. As a disclaimer, I do not condone drink driving, I just think that it is one of many intoxocants that alter senses and slow reaction times while driving. yet it is the only one that can be easily tested for so takes all of the blame. over the years I have been in vehicles with drunk drivers and stoned drivers, and someone who has been toking up is in no better state to drive than someone who has had a couple of beers.
carry on john

johnf_456, Jun 29, 7:38am
Question mark means a question is that so hard to understand, aka I was seeking extra information from him. Since he choose not to like the first comment and decided to sing about it

dr.doolittle, Jun 29, 7:45am
I totally agree with you Kaz.
I'd go even further back to say that I (probably like a lot of you here) learnt to skid a pushbike before getting my first motorbike at 11 or 12yrs(Paid for by myself). Learnt all kinds of 'tricks' & all about how far you could push the limits before you could 'feel' things letting go. These skills were latter used in a car (sorry Dad) & from there I developed a better understanding of the 'feeling' of driving & the relationship between the brain & the throttle.
How m,any kids do you even see on a pushbike these days, let alone a scooter! It's straight into a car.

gilligan2, Jun 29, 10:05am
Its actually Nickel back with the guy from saliva. secondly R.E.M sucks. Unless your having trouble sleeping. Thats when r.e.m is a good thing.

gilligan2, Jun 29, 10:06am
Come on man, move on.

pollymay, Jun 29, 12:10pm
johnf_456 referring to what you said a bit back there is nothing in the posting guidelines about keeping things totally on subject. If you don't like the workshop banter and don't enjoy it don't read it or post in threads full of it.

"The message board is provided for the enjoyment of the entire Trade Me community", that means everyone is allowed to enjoy themselves irrespective of your singular opinion on workshop banter as long as it isn't out of control in every thread.

johnf_456, Jun 29, 3:01pm
Because you mentioned it in another thread, when I pointed out about johnf_456. So you decided you would twist my name to that. Since its similar to mine, we all know what it means.

That is what I do, if they are slurring or they cannot even line up the key in the ignition etc then yeah I will say no your not driving. It is not imaginative, I think everyone should do the same if they see an extremely drunk driver. You would never forgive yourself if that same person killed or injured another person, knowing you could of stopped them.

gilligan2, Jun 29, 3:12pm
\

Yeah thats called common sense.

xacoon, Jun 29, 3:37pm
kinda sad that he is more recognised in this day and age than someone like Cornell (got me wellington tickets) and for that matter even classed in the same general genre as him is a crime to music. goes to show that a good pulicity regime and mindless crap for the masses sells eh!
