He got very, VERY lucky he didn't kill anyone. That driver is a future candidate for a Darwin Award. I just hope he doesn't take anyone else out at the same time.

I have some doubt about the SCU findings sometimes. I think alcohol was a very big factor in this accident as there was no attempt to correct the over steer when the driver entered the corner a bit fast. See normally when you enter or take a corner too fast, thats it you cant save yourself,and in the case of this accident, turning a right hand corner and losing control, the car would have to have left the road on the left side, that is what happens when you take a corner to fast. How ever in this case the car, probably by fault of the driver turning the steering the wrong way and maybe braking just enough to lock the back wheels has continued on a curve much less than the curve of the road and has actually come of on the right side of the road,, so if that was a decent driver there was not enough momentum to take the car out and by turning into the slide and controlling the trajectory of the car, he should have got around the corner without crashing, I think they got his speed wrong at 145k and I think he might have been going much slower and simply drove the car into the bus shelter and causing the crash.

I think on a more serious note they should have considered fatigue to be a bigger influence than what they did. if he had a big day before as they had stated, by 4 30 in the morning the eyes are going to be drooping whatever you are on including water (excluding speed) blink for a fraction longer than usual while you are at speed and you can miss a lot of road.

Yes actually, dunno what the limit is till you exceed it, think you are gunna die, shit yourself then come to a stop in the trees then realize you are losing time so crash back through them trying to find the road again ignoring the funny noises the car makes.
