I buy most of the parts I need from overseas, saved around $200 buying 1 part this week and that was trade price in Nz Vs retail in Aus even with the shitty dollar and shipping, If I need something straight away I use Repco.

I had a mixed experience with Repco yesterday. At their last 25% off sale a few weeks ago I bought an alternator drive belt. They looked up the rego number on their computer and gave me the belt. When I went to fit it found it was wrong size and type. Returned it yesterday and they gave me the correct one and further discounted the price so that was good. However then selected a container of oil off the shelf. Clearly marked $15.47 but their computer price $19.50 which with 25% off brings it back to the same as the SCA price! Same with an H4 lamp, with 25% off still same as SCA. However will go back today and get some more things.

for the record bnt is more trade related
if you go in and say
Excuse me sir, I would like to purchase a set of Front brake pads for a 1986 honda prelude
Chassis number BA1 Engine number B20A built in japan
they will get you the right pads for a great price

if you go in and say
Hey Bro my rides making a noise when i push a pedal
its a white car my bro said its vtec as
also can i get a winz quote / what you very best special price for me

they will most likely tell you "im sorry sir we dont stock brake pads this is a boating store, try the repco down the road"

they also sell jonnesway tools at bnt which despite being pricey are among my favorites

and yes repco and sca base their prices off each other
while bnt etc base it on a standardish markup

thats why a 400gram tube of permatex gasket maker is $46 from repco $38 from sca and $11 from bnt
