but yeah, recently she has been good, i did some more fideling and the mixture seams right and the idle is low ( sometimes idles too low and the oil pressure light comes on ) i dunno what happened , though it is still smoking a little, i may just need to use a thicker oil

Yes but what does that mean! HS6s are good enough to feed that engine, which is all that matters. 106 horses from 2.5 litres is not a very highly-stressed engine.
Oh and good work getting her tune a bit better dude!

SU normaly have a tuning bit at the bottom SU prob less likely to flood and are gen more eco as long as the oil in the cyclinder is nice and thin they work a treat

Wasn't referring to any power gains (I doubt there are any measurable gains), more about the robustness of the design. Internal,centralised and redesigned fuel bowl and float system means less inclined to have fuel level issues. The vacuum system has proved to be more reliable, and tune-able, piston has proved to be less inclined to wear etc
