An interesting observation.

hahahah thats funny cause the 1z that drive in want to feel rich lol well i cant talk too i need a cheap car badly lol

muzz67, Jun 12, 7:15am
People who have bad credit, no licence, are on the benefit or are looking for (to quote) cheap trade insare probably thick as posts, whereas working ppl are respectful of your business.

Parking outside may be a sign of them being unsure, or leaving the car there so they don't feel "trapped" or "packed" in which may cloud their judgement.

People who barge in want to have the upper hand over you and not let you do your job properly. They could be doing so to feel more dominant as there is less chance of them acquiring your vehicles (Legally) and they will feel much better when they reverse out of your yard in their car and think they are the bigger person.

The former people are most likely expecting a test drive or two and want clear room too if you only have the one gate.

Thanks, tune in to Doug207 FM again.

Kaz. hope this isn't too OT for you, .but in a similar way, we have arrived at the following conclusions about customers.
.When you come down our (rurual) drive, there is a 15 m wide turn-around ( as big as an on-ramp roundabout) between you & our house / workshop. It's an easy drive straight ahead ( with the t/around on your left as you go past ti )directly to the house/w-shop, or a hard left-hand turn to go around the turnaround & arrive at the same place
.Almost without fail, the people that drive straight up to the house are refreshing, bright, smart people open to discussion about restoration projects, costs, etc.
& almost without fail, the people who stop at the turn-around, & make the hard left turn, as if they were on a public road or round-about ( remember. this is private properry with a clear view of house, drive, etc ). are small-minded whingers who invariably expect a 3-hr conversation about a $20 part, & want warranties signed in blood when they finally reluctantly dust the cobwebs off their wallet.

.These days, when a car comes down & turns left, . my worthy assisitant ducks for cover & looks busy elsewhere round the place.

People tell you volumes about the way they see life long before they open their mouths, aye !

franc123, Jun 12, 9:13am
Nothing new about this, having spent many years working in service depts of several franchise dealerships it was always obvious which customers were used to dealing with such places and who wasn't, just by their behaviour. The latter group of people are usually just inconsiderate sods with a sense of entitlement who don't think about what they are doing.

tiny15, Jun 12, 9:16am
People who have bad credit, no licence, are on the benefit are looking to trade in the car they just drove in with.pity its not actually their car to sell !

richynuts, Jun 12, 10:36am
because the people with money are smarter if they get cornered by a 'wont take no for an answer salesman' can bolt real easy, i.ewill just go get the cheque book out of the car trick! lol

dr.doolittle, Jun 12, 10:37am
The first group have respect for you & your premises as well as others.
The second group think you owe them something. Maybe some sort of compensation for a bad upbringing or something.

elect70, Jun 12, 10:46am
Its so the cops cant ticket itas its on private property . They have # plate recognition now so can slowly drive along the road & do a reg wof check on cars . Next thing is facial regognitionto match drivers with licence photo , which was why it was introduced .They got you farked everywhich waynow

crzyhrse, Jun 12, 12:18pm
Now the government can really crank up the cost of motoring and the apathetic kiwis will have no choice but to go along with it no matter what they decide to introduce.

skin1235, Jun 12, 12:50pm
They have access to facebook and their face recognition software already, its not hard to see where that all leads to, this place is becoming overpoliced by over powered police, our rights to privacy are fast disappearing
Have to agree re attitude etc of people being very obvious long before they open their mouth tho, psychology 101 body language is often displayed before you even see them and it's rarely wrong

lookoutas, Jun 12, 2:16pm
The fact is - They're too bloody lazy to walk further than necessary. Which is why they're drop-kicks from the start.

franc123, Jun 12, 3:29pm
Tell me about it, where I work thankfully we don't get a lot of them, its usually some 19-25yo moll with 3 kids to 7 different fathers driving an old Subaru turbo or something else that is a stupid choice for the financially challenged.Showing up and asking working taxpaying people for these benefit quotes to fix their POS is pisstaking in the extreme in my book.

lookoutas, Jun 13, 4:41pm
We did a job on a Club Sport before Xmas - over 1K on parts and another K paid out to the painters in January, and the drip feeding of the 4K bill still leaves $2010-00 to pay.
It will sit there until it's paid for, but the owner came in last week and wanted to take it for 2 days to attend a Tangi. When he was told "no way" he asked how much was owing, to which he asked if he could take it if he paid $2000-00.
Naturally he was told sure. (why worry about $10) THEN HE SAID "And I'll bring it back in two days so yous can give me the money back!"

But that's not all - He sent some guys from out of town in a couple of weeks back to tint the windows, and they were expecting to charge that to us!

rob_man, Jun 13, 4:50pm
I think these may be the same people who park their invariably aging V6 POS on the only diesel pump at a gas station and proceed to dick around buying groceries and tampons for half an hour.
I think there should be a list of requirements we can check off before deciding that yes, it is legal to kick these people over a cliff somewhere. A very high cliff.

rob_man, Jun 13, 4:53pm
Good ol' Taumarunui eh!

johnf_456, Jun 13, 4:57pm
A very true observation, nothing worse than those shoppers who block the lanes for ages.

gunhand, Jun 13, 4:58pm
Awww come on now, theres many types of tampons to choose from so i guess it would take a while, you wouldnt want to select the wrong product for that hole now would ya lol. If you were female of course.

carstauranga001, Jun 13, 5:02pm
bugga, you're on to me!

taipan4, Jun 13, 7:37pm
yay do you have the tammys with wings on LOL

rob_man, Jun 13, 7:39pm
The Red Bull ones!

chevcamaro, Jun 13, 7:56pm
brilliant for gunshot wounds the army use them in first aid kits, the cherry string along, depends on calibre as to which tampon i quess, sorry off subjectlmao
