Yep, HC Viva 2 door, 283 chev & powerglide. Absolute nightmare to control no matter if road was dry or wet lol.

One velox. great car with its 2.6 inline 6 but was even better with the 3.3 inline. some would say quicker than the kingas of the time

Yep had a 55 Wyvern (EIP I think) Dad had a LIP, and a Trekka! I learnt to drive in the Trekka what a machine!

Yep. Purple 58 Velox. Used to jump out of top gear (3rd). Drove for miles with my hand resting on the column gear change lever. Also done for drink driving.

No I haven't but worked on heaps of them back in my motor trade days at the local GH-H dealership.
One I would have liked though but never got the chance was a 1965 PB 3.3 Cresta English built imported one that was Met Black with red side flash outlined in chrome and it had a blood red leather bucket seat interior , 4 speed floor shift and O/D and also a factory warmed over engine. Man that thing could go, I coveted that car and did various servicing work on it back then. It was far better finished than the NZ assembled Velox models.
There were the odd few of them imported, I remember one in Christchurch years ago but in white with a blue flash on it.

got my license in an Eip.Had a couple of pb`s 3.3 with victor 4 speed,we used to put pc discs on the front and were set.

yep lol a two door viva , awesome little car . Got me through 6th and 7th form and my first year at Uni . I could get from Papakura to Manu bay in Raglan for a surf for twenty dollars gas . For an extra ten dollars I could get a big bottle of coke , a feed of fish and chips from Raglan fish shop and a Jug of Lion Brown from the Raglan hotel lol
