Start your own thead man ! and ill come a pee all over it like you do to me

People do it all the time anyway, so it would not be a surprise.
But back on topic 3/4 is a little on the high side, are the hoses warm, is the radiator warm in all parts. Check it with your hand.

bigracket, May 27, 6:51pm
Please only people comment if you have some brains. This place is next to impossible to use now!

bigracket, May 27, 6:52pm
I SAID FUDGE OFF! JOHN Dont comment in my treads!

bigracket, May 27, 6:54pm
Threads!

mugenb20b, May 27, 6:55pm
It's OK, just ignore him, it's all you can do. Anyway, are all the cooling system hoses hot! When you drive the car and turn the heater on, does the temperature go down! When driving up steep hills, does the temperature increase!

bigracket, May 27, 7:00pm
The problem was, the temp would read low for ages after starting, then get really would go up to 3/4 and stay there, put the heater on and it would settle a bit lower and be fine, so I though fans all good, coolant all good, no head major gasket signs, prob thermostat, A mechanic mate said to use the slightly lower temp thermo as it would open a little earlier. It seems to get to that temp and stay there

bigracket, May 27, 7:01pm
The moter does seam quite hot though

ginga4lyfe, May 27, 7:03pm
My heads now really wandering, could the brakes be binding and causing the engine to overheat!, otherwise it would be a cheap thing to replace the temp sensor, and flush the radiator!

bigracket, May 27, 7:07pm
Wicked ginga, year a flush is prob a good idea aye, and the temp sensor

mugenb20b, May 27, 7:07pm
OK, first I would look to see if the gauge is reading correctly. When the gauge reads high, put a thermometer in the filler neck, it shoud read around 80 to 85 degrees (roughly), and make sure the fans cut in and out. If your fans stay on for a long time or the water boils in the radiator, it will need rodding out. Also, like I said earlier, make sure all your cooling system hoses are hot (heater hoses, top and bottom radiator hoses etc.)

Thinking about it I would not be surprised if it was the temp sensor, my father has a n15 pulsar for his work car. His car does weird things with the temperature gauge also, just a thought. If a tk test is fine, the radiator is warm, has flow then it has to be the gauge. Just trying to help and second mudgen20b's comment above.

See if you can un plug the temp sensor and see what happens.

ginga4lyfe, May 27, 7:10pm
before you do that, get the car warmed up, and then switch it off, then disconnect the sensor, then put the ign back on, see if the guage reads any differant, if it stays there it could be a shorting out or blown guage, if it drops then ground the wire to the block and see if the guage spikes and reads hot ( allll the way at the top ) that way you can either eliminate or isolate the problem to guage/electrical/ or cooling :)

bigracket, May 27, 7:12pm
Thanks Mun, will have a look at it tomorrow at let you know how I get on. Its cool to get ideas off you guys ay, it all helps. Well almost all ! LOL

bigracket, May 27, 7:13pm
How many time do I have to say it JOHN !

bigracket, May 27, 7:14pm
GO AWAY !

johnf_456, May 27, 7:14pm
What is wrong with what I posted, it was on topic unlike the other ones. Also carm down.

ginga4lyfe, May 27, 7:23pm
One of my previous posts must have fallen on deafened ears, either you are oblivious that you are only stirring and ignoring his requests, or you are intentionally carrying on

sr2, May 28, 6:24pm
I'll vote for that.

ginga4lyfe, May 28, 6:41pm
Me too, there are quite a few here that i would block, normally the returning school kids more than anyone else

bigracket, May 28, 6:47pm
Yes I agree, I am really not usually that harsh, but every thread I ever start for genuine reasons "He" turns up and it all turns pear shaped with silly questions that have already been asked. Its maddening, when you just want some good advice.

bigracket, May 28, 6:49pm
Fish, is there any way to test a radiator! I cant say i have ever heard of that! how do you know when there root te tooted

mugenb20b, Apr 12, 1:54pm
If the thermostat, fans and water pump are OK, and you have no air locks, the only thing left is the radiator. You need to remove it, take it to a radiator specialist and ask them to rod it out. Costs about $120.
