Yes, it does, but the problem has always been the high cost of the conversions, and the fact that most people are flicking their cars on after three or four years. For the average motorist doing the average amount of km's a year (about 13000!) its simply not worth it.Different story if you're in for the long haul with the same vehicle and doing three or four times that amount of km's every year.

I'v driven a 06 4x4 hilux 3.0L turbo diesel with a 25L LPG system installed to run along side the standard diesel injection. 30% more power no diesel knock and 1200kms to a tank of diesel/LPG. completely irrelevant I know but great way to kill the tension in here lol

LPG has a higher calorific value than petrol per unit, direct injection on my jeep and it prrrs along on giggle juice.
I think the fuel companies are ripping the public on gas prices as it needs no refining and should be taxed less by gotv as its cleaner burning, but then thats the way of this rip off world.

Not unless it was a Ford. Positive, & if you dont believe me you can ask him yourself & view his time slips.
This Motoring message board seems to be filled with clowns!
I'm not a sh*t-spinner like a lot of you seem to be, facts are facts.

In the old days of valiants and holdens on lpg with inefficient engines ,poor manifolds and carbs as restrictions the usage of lpg was a lot higher compared to petrol. But modern engines with improved engine ,manifold designs and with vapour injection the difference is closer.I have an XR8 that i installed a vapour injection kit to about 6 years agothat costs $67 to fill and will travel about 410 km.So thats around 16 cents per km. But the difference in extra gas used is less than 20% compared to petrol. It is a lot cheaper to run than the diesel hiace vans we also run ,they work out around 24 cents per km when you include roaduser.
