Nice VP!
We have a VP which is a little un loved cause there is no room in the garage. Its only the V6 but still drives very well.

skyline_guy_r34, May 18, 4:28pm
To all you folks out there commenting on his nice SS. Its a VN not a VP. Sorry to get twisted about it but everyone is still calling it a VP even though its clearly a VN.

Back to it.

How can you tell its a VN! The VN and VPhave the same rear end except for the rear wheel arch. the main difference is the front grille. I dont know about the VN SS grille though.

The window registration card should tell you if its a VN or VP.

shelly12c, May 18, 6:15pm
the rear end is different
spoiler is different
vp was irs to think

guider1, May 18, 6:21pm
Differences are:
VP is IRS rearend
different boot garnish
different front guards
different corner lamps
different grille
different upholstery (colour)
different steering wheel
different bodykit
different tail lights
different rear wheel arches
different factory wheels
lots of things are different.

These are the big give aways at a glance.

treachug, May 18, 7:31pm
Really! somehow I doubt it - you sure you're not getting confused with VR/VS models! VR/VS had rounded rear wheel arches & VN/VP had the squared off rear wheel arch.:-)

Guess im not a detail person then huh, LOL

Nice looking car pollymay, these are slowly becoming collectible in their own right - tidy ones are certainly few & far between.

3tomany, May 18, 8:36pm
wow a holden thread where holden fans know about there holdens unbleavable that is a cool car and you guys are kool for knowing about it and thats from a big ford fan

guider1, May 18, 8:39pm
Sorry, yes you're right. DOH!

guider1, May 18, 8:41pm
Also different Holden badges (bonnet & boot) plus the Holden boot badge on a VP surrounds the boot lock.

pollymay, May 19, 6:29am
Lol why does my tow car garter so much interest!

Also got the brakes smoking yesterday, put in plain terms they suck quite badly. I'd of taken some pretty pictures by now of it some of the tidy up but lost my camera somewhere.

guider1, May 19, 6:35am
There is an upgrade available on here where you fit VT rotors & calipers but there's no need if you just fit some Skyline 4 pots. They will require the making of a bracket & new hoses though but they're still better than the VT rotor setup. Also, on the Skyline calipers are the letters NISSAN so if you want to get tricky you can file the NI & AN off leaving SS.

skyline_guy_r34, Mar 8, 3:15am
Thats the one. The most obvious on the SS being the rear spoiler and the boot garnish. Instantly gives it away
