still dont understand the whole licencing aspect, i thought greenstone energy bought the shell petrol stations.
its shell fuel being sold, what would be wrong with promoting and advertising their brand!
Wouldnt shell want that market exposure!

clark20, May 15, 9:00pm
With any brand name it has a value, so if Greenstone use the name, they should pay for it. It is just how much! People trust a brand name (thats why they are a "brand") and I would stop at any shell station, however I will not feel the same at a "Z" station, oh well back to BP.

Same fuel just different name

icemans1, May 16, 1:08am
long gone are the days when you could buy car parts at a service station (oil filters, radiator hoses etc.) new lynn bp here in auckland was brilliant, you could even buy high tensile bolts and gasket sets

whqqsh, May 16, 5:07am
yeah, we needed clutch fluid (brake/hydraulic whatever someones bound to pick) one night & went to 3 gassies before we found one that had any. but we could buy dishwashing liquid, tampons and a fried chicken meal or subway no worries

johnf_456, May 16, 8:17am
Doesn't surprise me been there done that.

nzoomed, May 16, 11:24am
i wont feel the same at a "Z" station either.
Ive been a big shell customer, and thats where i go to fill up most of the time.

ive now gone to greenstone energy's website, and it appears they have dropped the greenstone energy brqand now too!
It's now called "Z" energy!
what a stupid name!

Quoted from their website:
"From one end of New Zealand to the other, we sat people down, and asked them what they wanted out of a New Zealand fuel company. You told us the idea of a New Zealand energy brand, run by Kiwis and with a heavy dose of New Zealand attitude is compelling."
dont know who conducted this servey, but i think its completley unaccurate.
I think they would be better rebranding their shops as a "Z" store rather than the whole petrol station.

Still Can at our one in Collingwood

clark20, May 16, 7:48pm
Just seen the tv ad, man, they lay it on hard. Just about twisting your arm "for NZ"

hutchk, May 17, 11:58am
I wonder why, if 'Z' is such a proud Kiwi brand, they pronounce it 'zed' (like the yanks do) instead of 'zee' (like every Kiwi kid is taught)!

johnf_456, May 17, 12:04pm
Everyone has different interpretations no right answer.

kyokei, May 17, 7:00pm
The one at Crofton Downs!

zephyrheaven, May 18, 5:05pm
I just want somewhere I can use a fuel card at a pump & not have to go 'instore' to be A: hassled to buy some overpriced confectionery & B: not line up with a million dipshits buying $5.00 worth of fuel FFS! Oh for those days to come soon

hutchk, May 18, 5:15pm
That is a very good idea, why does nobody offer this!

zephyrheaven, May 18, 5:22pm
I asked all over the place before we signed up with greenstone (simply because they have 3 stations along my route to work so makes sense) - nobody offered this, but would much rather just go to a filling station like the truckies & not have to see anyone, to be honest - after a hard day (or even before one) the last thing I want is to interact with pump jockeys
My old man had a fuel card many years ago in Invercargill which had LPG / Petrol & Diesel all swipe & fill type deal with nobody around - was bliss

jkm, May 18, 5:26pm
Dont you have it backwards! We are in NZed not NZee.
Was Zed when I went to school.

zephyrheaven, May 18, 5:28pm
americans say zee , mother tongue english is zed (think Zed Cars et al) the

johnf_456, Mar 6, 3:42am
That would be great, especially when you just want gas and you don't have to wait for the coffee and cafe crowd here in Auckland.
