Tis the white/blue smoke on load that i don't like here,,,,,,
and really 160-after say 10 distinct full throttle all plugs out even wind overs per cyl-well atmosheric 14.7 PSI times 10 =150 so an efficient engine should run 160 to 180 really. If it's the additive it'll clear up-if tis an old trumpy that has had the head off-it may be the old ass end is saying-gimme a goin ova 2.

No lip on bore I could drag my finger nail up the hole of the liner and felt no ridges or lips, but no obvious looking honing marks either ( I dunno how long they would last anyways ) , and yes the guy who skimmed the head was impressed it was a good one, he was telling me that he used to throw many of them away cause they cracked easily between the valves, so it was planed tested for warping and cracks, that same day i was done putting the valve's back in , then the next day head was on torqued up then the valve rockers were placed back on, though, the compression tests were the same as before the head was removed ; as to the back firing, I had the car running as rich as i could get it and it was still back firing, untill i put the air box assembly on, ohwell atleased the back firing is gone

mmm ya do realise that ya undo the plasic centres on the ole SU's and fill emm with ATF or light grade oil.
(The oil dampening the rate ofcarb piston rise is the carb accelerator pump)

hahaha yes yes i do realise, I went to a carb and efi specialist to have them seen to ( to check for obvious problems ) and said that its better to put that 3 in 1 light machine oil into it, said it was better than the ATF I was using

I hope not, If it is I would wunna take the engine to 2.7 liters with Over sized pistons and re grind the cam, and I dont have the money for it ahaha, but the rings arnt too expencive nore are the bearings, but I would have to do the oil pump and that may be a little expencive
