Looking at buying a camaro 1967-1969. What is more collectable ! Why are some about $20k and others $80K.

A 20k one will be rough and will need work but may still be able to be a driver where a 80k one is more likely to be a sunny sunday car. There is one on here has been listed at 60k for over a year.because its overpriced imo.

In my experience of having owned mustangs, camaro's, thunderbirds and the like, I would go for a later model. 60's cars drive like 60's cars and the dream oftensurpasses the reality of owning a classic. If you bought a 90's camaro, you get the benefit of ABS/airbags etc, a nice comfortable ride and reliability. You also get one for a fraction of the cost of the older ones. I drive my 93 camaro every day and get a lot of enjoyment from it. I bought it off trademe for $10k and have had no trouble with it whatsoever.

No No No No No No No! Who wants ABS/airbags, comfort and reliability out of a classic car!He may as well go and buy a mid 2000's V8 Commodore. It's got the LS1 and all the bells and whistles. How can you possibly compare a 67 Camaro witha 90's Camaro.I'm Chevy thru and thru but those 90's Camaros are just fugly. It's like a Ford Probe or Taurusor something.

Well, it just shows we are all different! I personally hate probes/taurus etc and can't lump them in with my 93 camaro. I love it's looks and with the iron block 350 chev, it's the real deal. Just wanted to make the point that old cars drive like old cars. $50K+ is a lot to pay for a 40+ year old car you only drive occasionally. As I said, we are all different and I respect others opinions. Still love the camaro. There a brand new V8 falcon sitting on display in the north shore shopping centre with a price tag of $83000. I would honestly rather drive my camaro than that.

What a stupid bloody thing to say, you dont buy a classic with the expectations its goin to be an F1 car, who the hell wants to own an ugly late generation so called "muscle car" and claim it as cool esp a Camaro, shoulda stopped makin em in 70's as mustangs.

My preference would be a 68 RS, SS or RS/SS. The 68 has full door glasses, whereas the 67 has 1/4 lights. And they are old drays - who cares! If you do care - don't buy one.

If my camaro lessons are correct (they may well not be) there was no factory RS,SS Camaro as part of the model line up. But you could order a RS with some SS options as well from the dealer. Bit like the 64 1/2 Mustang. It was never called this by the factory and just something people called it. God knows why there wasnt a 63 Mustang except prototypes. I stand corrected if Im wrong.

Sounds like he might've been smoking a punga at the time!
