good job, policeman or not, dangerous driving needs to be inforced more.

The blog was right "Theres no winners here", a cop makes a mistake thus proving he's human and it cost an innocent man his life, undoubtedly the worst mistake anyone can make at work whether a cop or a machine operator etc,it does happen.Dont judge him because he's a cop,he's feeling it as well, judge him as a person and if he gets the boot from the job just think of him next time you cannot get an instant response if you need the police, thats one less. "theres no winners here."

Fail mate. What will that teach anyone! Will that bring the guy back! What will society gain!

Good job.Absolutely stupid place to do a 3 point turn in a cutting on double yellow lines. If it was Joe Public he'd be in Rangipo ages ago,

???cop will continue to do it??? ??

Hopefully some good can come from this tragedy. It would be great to think more Police will think "what if" before they act. I have seen some shocking driving from Police officers and even had to take evasive action to prevent an accident that would have been caused through gross negligence on an officers part.

ah well least the idiot motorcylclist didnt have the chance to kill anyone, if he wasnt speeding he wouldnt have been killed. simple

Fail troll.
crzyhrse,
Apr 10, 7:09pm
Yeah, a pretty pathetic effort. But there actually are idiots like him out there.
crzyhrse,

The same argument could apply to any punitive punishment.
thepuppydad,
Apr 10, 7:11pm
why fail! merely an opinion. . .
berg,

I agree, no winners in this one. I just hope the policeman gets treated fairly as would anybody else.
Police should be punished and the punishment he recieved is no where as harsh as if you or I hit the poor motocyclist.
thepuppydad,
Apr 10, 7:20pm
and if you or i hit the "poor" cyclist and got the same penalty, no one would really care, its because he is a policeman that you want the harshest penalty, by the sounds of it.
berg,
Apr 10, 7:21pm
Actually, you will find the policeman will get a harsher sentence due to the job but also he may lose his job over this. Not funny when a 5hithead Wellington taxi scumbag can get convicted and discharged for driving through the front of a Maccas injuring customers.
crzyhrse,
Apr 10, 7:23pm
Meh. Not an opinion. A straight nothing.
crzyhrse,
Apr 10, 7:24pm
Damn right. He needs to act in a manner beyond reproach. Anything less is completely unacceptable.
crzyhrse,

He seems to be pushing for a consensus in favour of the latter.

nothing has changed.i was following a highway patrol car a few weeks ago (north of foxton) when he braked pulled left without indicating then started doing a u turn in front of me again without indicating lucky he saw me at the last second and stop'd partly blocking the lane. nothing was coming so i could go around him in the other lane. and before any of you start on following distances i could have stop'd if he had blocked the lane. i thought he was stopping on the side of the road

his penalty should be harsher exactly the same as if i as a truck driver am convicted for having a insecure load the penalty i get will be harsher than if its granddad taking a bit of rubbish to the tip. he should loose his job exactly the same as anyone that needs a license would when they are disqualified. the taxi driver does seam a bit under prosecuted.

Yep, had a cop pull a u-turn in front of us couple weeks back on the West coast. Seems some things dont change.

sorry cops are still human and will still make mistakes just like all of us they are not robots, which some of you should actually appreciate either that or dont come here complaining next time you get a ticket. like the one who pulled me over the other day and gave me a tkt dropped my speed from 106ks to 100 was human and used discretion.
