outside is a van with two cameras.like the speed cameras only its got these two extra cameras on top.the cameras read the number plates and send them to the computer to check rego or stolen etc.cop sits down the road.big brother is here.

Excellent, a great way to catch these blatant people out who stick there rego on hold especially motorcyclists and have the attitude i can get caught xxx times a year and it will not pay rego. Like some in here (you know who you are). Bring it on, everyone pays forpeople that don't play by the game and suffers. The only people that are going tobe upset are the ones that have no wof or rego in the first place.

Its also about catching people that have no wof which will mostly likely be driving around in defect vehicles. and catching stolen cars also and its also fair to catch people that do not pay there way. Not very fair on people who pay there way through life in legitimate ways.
No doubt you drive a bike or something with the rego on hold! If your doing nothing wrongs what the problem!

As I understand it that interaction still happens - they are not simply spitting out fines based on what they film. The car is used to spot vehicles of interest who are then pulled over.
I'm all for making sure everyone pays their dues, however this sort of tech does need to come with some very tight controls. Control over who can use the information gathered, for what purpose, how long it is kept for etc etc. Unfortunately legislation has a way of lagging behind these advancements, and abuse can occur in the meantime.

agree totally.Seems some are jealous that others have the nads to ride around with out a rego to avoid paying the totally excessive rego fees. The last lot of massive rego fee hike's were nothing but daylight robbery forced on us by a totally incompetent goverenment! There is a point where it just go's beyond revenue gathering and turns in to out right legal theft. It's white collar crime. . Personally, I take my hat off to anyone that can avoid paying the outragous rego fee's we have had forced up on us and good on them for doing so.
