So I wonder what the average response time was today out west if your house/business/car etc got broken into!Could you even get a response today at all! This country is getting seriously f&#ked up when our allegedly under resourced Police can spare that amount of manpower for a swoop on motorists for no reason other than revenue gathering when we have citizens in need of police assistance for a whole lot of other reasons and protection from the criminals they are supposedly trying their best to stop. What a joke.
johnf_456,

No idea, obviously just need more police I guess. But yeah I see your point but on the other hand.

I was refering to John Key, and yep bloody oath I expect ACC, considering I've done less that 5000km in the last year on my bike. I'd have more chance of crashing my mx/dirt bike, falling off the deck when pissed or dropping something on my foot with home diy job. Maybe you like paying rego for 3 vehicles when you can only use one at a time, doesn't mean we all should bend over with a smile and take it from the govt coughers like you willingly do.

i think this is going a bit off topic!

Its just being fair to everyone else, there is a thing called rego on hold. I have multiple vehicles and trailers just like you, but only use one or 2 main so what is not used gets chucked on hold., its as simple as that. If everyone didn't register anything think about what would happen. People that pay rego pay extra because of people that don't pay, you use the road you pay your way its as simple as that.
On the other hand yes I agree acc should be per person not per vehicle trailer whatever and have a scheme where repeat offenders would pay through the roof vs the one that does low risk stuff and never claims.

They ticketed my friend for no rego outside VTNZ getting it, they literally just hung around outside till they got someone then got in their bubble car and fled. He'd just warranted it to, day before. They ticketed my dad for no plates outside the one in pukekohe cause he was exchanging the plates for new shiny ones on his classic car, he even saw the warden guy and said he was just going inside with the plates and he said "yeah sure no problem mate". They are little bureaucratic pricks is why no one likes their laws, cause they don't use them right. They HAVE laws and the ability to get more people than they do for serious crimes but they want automated machines so they can sit on their ass and be absolved of judgement and responsibility, Machines lack common sense or having to face up to someone face to face, they love it.
They aren't saving anyone from anything the way they go about things and a lot of those that defend the system in place are under the belief it would do the same for them when called upon. I found it has been a huge letdown, a life threatening let down, a life DESTROYING let down. When brought up with others they just assume I go round making drugs and speeding (with no rego!) everywhere but it's hardly the case yet I'm still unhappy cause their values are so misplaced it's scary. Plenty of money for flash prisons and tricky speed cameras, not so much for say more police tazers or improving the court system.

Yup I get a lot dumped on me, but I guess thats what you get here when so many people never seam to obey anything like outllaws.
pollymay: the machines are only for identifying the culprits then they radio another coppa down the road to pull you over, who you then can have a chat about with to it. To my knowledge they are not like speed cameras.

Besides the point, have you looked at england! CCTV everywhere and still an infested hole.
People would probably be a bit happier if the application of these laws/techniques was not misused. Like the 105km/h thing, the real morons are not any more punished but it brings things down to a level where you can ticket Joe Blogs with his new tyres, what happened to it being a way to stop real speeders rather than nit picking on the public! The whole rego thing with my dad, parking wardens can ticket unregoed cars, good keeps them off the road right!.hanging outside VTNZ waiting for "prey" is totally uncalled for, hanging outside warrant places while they are operating is uncalled for, but they do, often they do.
I'm just confused on how things get phased in so easily and the public doesn't blink when there are clear underlying problems in the force that need sorting out or at least damnwell explained. They just can't help but edge it towards being another earner just like speed cameras, parking tickets, rego etc etc, just a foot in the door

one of my neighbours must have finally got nabbed last night, been driving his wagon around with cancelled rego for 13 months and i see the plates are ripped off today, wasnt here last night so maybe got police accomodation for the night to boot.

they rely on the fact that 90 % of us will pay our fines and when the countries in the mess it is at the moment they are looking at every possiable source of revenue and when they are out catching burglars and the likes theres no revenue in it theres actually a cost by the time you take in time spent on remand,a trial, legal aid (they never have any assets).lot easier to catch some car drivers
clark20,
Apr 10, 8:42pm
If everyone paid their rego (on time) maybe it will not need to increase. Police are only doing it because they know there are plenty of unpaid ones to catch, If it was 0.1% of the cars they would not have bothered with these vans. they are probably catching unpaid fines as well.
pollymay,
Oct 18, 6:10pm
They hike it regardless because we are stuck with our stupid ACC that is a mess of government department retardism. They need to sort that out and they would be far better off than some vans would make them and so would the public. Fines are an easy out to having to tackle the big issues, cleaning out ACC would make for some wild hangers on to face. People would be more willing to pay less as well so it partially solves that as being caught would make less financial sense anymore.
Besides those goons if you put the pedal to the floor won't even chase you that hard most of the time, I took off in a pink ford telstar towing one tonne of crap, they're after the easy buck, I could of been a serious offender on the loose or carting stolen goods. It was more a case of "I can't be bothered with you pricks again today" but point still stands, easy tickets are the best tickets right!
