I think part of their problem is the aquabase, the assembly plants don't have time to wait around for another coat of the horrible shit to dry so it just gets moved along.

Best to do a COB with DG as base if you're that keen on it.

But Glasurit users are so much better than us mere painters, they're in a class of their own. Or so they like to think lol.

Aquabase, never had the pleasure thankfully. How to pretend your saving the planet when everything else you use is used with normal reducers LOL. Unless theres primers and clearcoats in aquabase now.

Apparently the plants are using a water borne clear which sprays on white like bloomed lacquer then turns clear as it dries. You're right though, it's all pretend at this stage. The "special" water that it thins with contains solvents anyway, and costs shitloads.

Used it couple of times, CBFed standing there with a stupid "hair dryer" waiting forever to recoat so gave up.

There are waterbourne primers but don't think the holdout is too good. As for clears the closest anyone got was BMW with a ceramic clear.
Was a fine powder sprinkled over the colour then baked, came out like glass but was impossible to match finish and depth with standard clears so i think they binned the whole idea.

And of course the Nano tech clears.Reflows over minor scratches they say. Think BMW used that to.
