was a great day but wild bunch cars numbers were down, my mate got eliminated contraversely, and the fastest car didnt win on the day.

Saw a massive plume of white smoke from the drags - clearly visible from Hampton Downs.Someone obviously had a major problem somewhere around the start!
Apparently a decent crowd at Hampton Downs, but most parked on the infield, but the crowd at the drags was larger.Grateful for two fine days at HD after the rain on Friday evening, which cleaned the track nicely.Practice and 3 races for me and all fastest lap times within 1/2 a second and overall, almost a second a lap faster than previously.
Heavy Waikato mist first thing delayed the Sunday start from 9am to 10am, then a few incidents during the day. At least 4 bent BMWs and a bent Porsche, so not a good day for Germany!Italy faired little better with two Alfa clutches and one Alfa with a leg out of bed.
Hampton Downs stiil needs decent signage on SH1.Drags had a large signboard trailer parked which was a simple and effective billboard.
Speed cops and camera cars by the bucketful - as usual.

Saw bugger all police, one speed camera, heaps of tyre smoke and a whole bunch of trollops trying to look cheap. they succeeded! Bloody good weekend all round! I wonder if that plane was surveying something!

Was a great weekend.a really shame tho that we broke saturday.there started with 8 door slammers and end up with only 4 on sunday.sooooo we decided to drink (far to much) sat night.
As for the "bunch of trollops".were you there to watch cars or perv!
dave653,

that blue speed camera car in the bushes past Papakura got me. 130 kph. ouch. And my warrant is four weeks out of date, so had to go and get that sorted today, and LPG warrant.

Pale bronze camera car on the south bound, pretty close to Meremere. Two marked cars and a couple of unmarked.Locals say that when the drags are on, there are about six vehicles in the area. Thanks Offr Tooman.

I pretty sure I got pinged by that bugger, it was a honda I think.
Bob ya should clean that black exhaust stain off ya underbelly.lol

shame about the doorslammer carnage we would have been watching a lot of PB's since the barometer was at record levels on sunday morning, was extremely surprised how good the track could hold traction with such good air. we've only got the nostalgias in a few weeks as the last meeting with a prepped track for the season. hopefully it will be as good as last year.

The track at Hampton Downs was also good - probably the heavy Friday night rain helped both.
