I only saw the RIPS rail run once. Bloody shame they broke it. sounded gorgeous! Was waiting for it to come back on Sunday when it was mentioned over the PA.

Yup it was a good weekends racing. If you wasnt there, you did yourself in the eye.
With nostalgias and club champs next weekend (3 april weekend) the end of the racing season is always better than the start (well for an old coot who loves nostalgia drags anyway).

Really! I'm seeing the surgeon on the oneth (1th), was planning to go down to Tauranga for the weekend, might have to call in for a look see. I'll be in the 'unfinished' HJ. Not racing, but I would love to fly the old bitch down the 1/4 and see what happens! My best time for the 3/16 was 13.54, but that was an old engine, tall diff and crap tune.

No, closed road drags wasn't allowed to run 1/4. too many rules and things. This was way back in '89-'90, 3/16 was 300m, and I was in my 179 HJ with 3.55 diff, yeh I know. big car, little engine, doesn't work. But over the years I've learnt a lot more, put it into practice and am doing better now. I don't want a V8 as thats been done to death, I like doing things different, being an invididual an all that!
