isnt there a bike shop out matakana way selling them ! they would probably oblige or find a willing client who would. failing that wander down to puhoi pub on a saturday and ask there.

I thought having 'girl bits' was a pre-requisite for owning a harley.!
or at least severely compromised 'boy bits'.

midosa, Jun 1, 9:11am
good onya mandy, go for it.

sifty, Jun 1, 9:24am
In all seriousness, good on you for asking Mandy, I'm sure someone will oblige, ther ARE some great blokes on HD's surprisingly, it is just expected that those of us who ride proper bikes do take the proverbial with them, all in good fun (usually).

Can I suggest looking at kiwibiker.co.nz. If you place a similar request on their forum I can almost guarantee a positive response (but please vet for weirdo's).

good luck.

sifty, Jun 1, 9:47am
probably.

boxburger, Jun 1, 10:00am
There are a couple of Harley boys up here in the far Nth that advertise and sell 'Sightseeing trips from the back of a Harley'. I'm not sure how well they trade, fairly seasonal of course.

I think it would be a cool way to have a look round a scenic region in a foreign country. (With travel insurance! I don't have the $100k to fix a broken leg in a foreign hospital.)

some of these people that diss harleys constantly,a.have never had one,but wanted one,b.have had their wife or missus stolen from a guy that had a harley ,or c.dreams of them but cant afford one! hahahahaha *bite*

boxburger, Jun 1, 2:18pm
Yep, love em or hate em, there's no denying they have 'Presence'

Probably a great way for a shy, retiring guy not to be shy and retiring.

sifty, Jun 1, 2:23pm
Ha, nice try:

a) I have never owned one, but having ridden a few I can confidently say I never want one.

b) I thought the arseless chaps brigade preferred blokes.!

c) Nothing to do with affording them, I would just rather enjoy my genuine 1930's bikes than a 2010 reproduction.

I've owned them on and off since 1979, [ and many other makes since the early 60's ] the reliability, quality etc has improved incredibly in that time, the vibration that is talked about is no worse and better than many other bikes.and just one little thing i have wondered with all this talk how slow they are,why is it i just about never seemed to get passed by these so called incredibly fast bikes in the real world[ not the dream world ]mind you i probably do three times the mileage that most would do.Guessing most just do these incredible feats between the coffee shops on Sundays.NOT the every day riding summer and winter .lol.I JUST DO NOT SEE THESE WIZZ BANG BIKES when I'm travelling up and down the country [don't get me wrong i like many of these wizzy bikes ]

offrd1, Jun 1, 2:40pm
Sounds like you are offering.lol.lol.[ chaps brigade that is .lol. ]

sifty, Jun 1, 2:45pm
Fair do's, you do always see lots of Milwaukee tractors at rallies, so they do the miles, and you have to respect that (just a shame they get pissed and try to do burnouts on the grass, unsuccessfully at 3am, before falling off and being laughed at).

And if I DID lose the missus to a hardley rider I'd give his guide dog a bloody good kicking.

offrd1, Jun 1, 2:54pm
lol.lol.good on ya .lol

boxburger, Jun 1, 2:57pm
A Hog lovin mate of mine tries to get over to the Sturgis rally in the States with a few of his pals when he can. Buy one up there or ship theirs over. They tie in a cruise through the Rockies, Route 66 etc into the trip. Sounds like fun to me.

It's hard to imagine them crating up Suzuki 750's. There's a lifestyle thing attached to owning a Harley. It is their major point of difference. Yep, it's tech off the ark, I'm not sure that's a bad thing, I prefer shaving with a blade.

offrd1, Jun 1, 3:17pm
i just love motorcycles [ always have ] it's just the old Harley suits me and what i do. i may be a little different as its not a image thing for me [ maybe life style ] or a mid life crises [ they make me cringe a bit .lol. ].You name it i have probably owned it or have ridden it .lol.thats non Japanese but i have even owned a couple of those just to try[ enjoyed them to ]

fordkiwi27, Jun 1, 3:20pm
yep thats the one. a lot of these people on here are hardcore aus and american v8 lovers, but love japper bikes!haha

fordkiwi27, Jun 1, 3:22pm
and nope havnt got into bikes ,so i cant say ive ridden them all or anything, but i wouldnt mind a triumph rocket

desmodave, Jun 1, 4:02pm
May be the owners are still busy polishing thier rides or parked at cafe .Are you handy to any biker club house's.Go and ask nicely at the gate.

chris_051, Jun 1, 7:26pm
Yep because they offer the best value for money. Why link Harleys to American/Aussie V8s! harleys are simply an image thing, all the riders I've come across think they're hard c.s and snob off anything from Japan, is that because a 20 year old jappa 250 has them off the line and top speed haha! Harley riders snobbing a jappa sports bike would be similar to an EA Falcon S Pack driver snobbing someone with an M5 or RS6!

offrd1, Jun 2, 8:22am
You have just said it.jappa would beat a Harley off the line woop pee.All our crowd ride very big miles 10000 and in my case over 20000 last year.We couldn't care a rats bum what you ride.all the best to you.plus my bike will very comfortablycruise at 160k [ it has been worked 100hp plus on the dyno ] AND no not a image thing for us,that is probably the ones you see when you are on your coffee barrun round town .lol.
