pretty rare beast though innit!

morrisman1, Feb 12, 9:23am
expensive but very tidy. How they got to 170000km with it looking like that is beyond me!

trogedon, Feb 12, 9:42am
I can't understand how they flipped it upside down to photograph the underside.

specialk11, Feb 12, 9:44am
Very tidy but hardly a classic model, especially being an auto.Overpriced but worth a try I suppose

jsbike, Feb 12, 9:47am
non turbo, auto.not much going for it really.

kevymtnz, Feb 12, 9:56am
these are not power cars but would now be more of a collectors item and should be a show car really
a price be hard to tell more like 6-8k to the right buyernot 16

un_known, Feb 12, 10:48am
my thoughts exactly.

shuddupowh, Feb 12, 11:35am
With those kind of kms some stuff must have recond or replaced eg carpets, exhaust system, etc. Even the normal wear & tear such as wheel bearings of course. And probably was hardly driven to start with.

foxdonut, Feb 12, 12:29pm
Not even worth half the price.

Also, lol @ suggesting it should go to a woman. Why not just curb the wheels and run the oil dry now!

duke250, Feb 12, 4:21pm
Its an Automatic, wont hold its price for too long.

duke250, Feb 12, 4:21pm
Its an Automatic, wont hold its price for too long. 16 grand is CRAZY!

fordcrzy, Feb 12, 4:25pm
DREAMING! its ugly and has NO cult following like a 240z or even a 120 or 1600 sss. value would be about 5K if hes lucky

akaniva, Feb 12, 5:07pm
Not as nice looking as later ones. Hard to see more than $10k here!

foxdonut, Feb 12, 6:50pm
You're crazy.

3 grand and whoever buys it is still wasting their money.

rob_man, Feb 12, 7:21pm
71000 ks, not 170000. Not my cup of tea but pretty rare I guess.

pebbles61, Feb 12, 8:31pm
Rare doesn't mean it's worth big dollars.

snoopy221, Feb 12, 10:31pm
Ain't like they are makin any more of em is itz!

friendly_prawn, Feb 12, 10:50pm
that is tidy.
between $2500 and $5000! Depending on how badly some one wants it.
personally, I see its only value in resale. I wouldnt want it as a daily driver.

foxdonut, Feb 12, 11:20pm
9 - 11k to someone who has the money and wants it. Maybe a few dollars more if you're desperate for a datto.

As a collectible, the modifications haven't done it any favours.

Its no concourse 240z

friendly_prawn, Feb 13, 6:18am
I have kept an eye on the 2 str 280Zs over the years. The most expensive one I have seen sell on trademe was a very tidy low k one about 5 years back that went for 6k. I was surprised it even fetched that price.
.
There was atidy (not immaculate) 240Z on trademe for 13K last year.

moosie_21, Feb 13, 6:19am
I'd say $5K for the Sylvia, and as most turbo cars go for twice their shopping cart cousins price, I'd say $10K for that. It's been totally modified from its original state, so collectors value is pretty much gone now.

friendly_prawn, Feb 13, 7:23am
your post is a bit of an eye opener. I guess it all depends on the individual buyer and not as I suspected a basic set price for every car.
If I owned that, I would rip the motor out and ditch it as fast as I could to drop an eight in to it, so I guess I would have to factor that cost in. There for its worth much less to me than it is to you who would be happy to keep the current set up.
interesting. I never quite looked at it like that before. i guess thats why I would make a terrible car salesman.I always lose money on cars I sell. lol

richardmayes, Feb 13, 7:32am
The whole "Old School" thing is tempting people into thinking the term "classic" applies to a lot of very average old Jappers.

YES it is a beautifully kept,time-warp example of that model.

But "THE LEGENDARY" 1800cc automatic Datsun Silvia - really!

(I like how it has tartan print seat fabric, like a Triumph TR7. that's classic Japanese style right there.yeah.)

smac, Feb 13, 7:42am
He's gonna regret selling that later.

richardmayes, Feb 13, 7:43am
But then, I suppose they would say exactly the same thing about the British/American/Aussie classic car world.
