In your argument you are correct, each English speaking country have their own ways of spelling a "word", with todays computers "American English" seems to be the default language programmed, so therefore users of this format will only become accustomed to reverting to "Americanized" spelling.which looks like it's spelt wrong to one who's been educated under "British" English spelling.

In Norrth America it may be seen as "round rubber things that attachs to wheels" but here in good ol NZ "Tires" has a whole different meaning. Tires = To exhaust the interest or patience of; bore
