thats bad news! I know somone who had similar, they sent their nissan in for a service, little did the agent know there was a data logger in the car. He was able to check how far, speed, time and engine rpm of the car when he got it back. Suffice to say, when he showed the workshop manager the data, they refunded him for the service as a "sorry it was the apprentice driving"!

Not only is that accusation against Mainfreight very difficult to prove, the receipts might be for another bike if the chassis and engine number aren't recorded on them.
I think you've been swindled my friend.

From the auction: "Has the bike ever had a re-build!piston,rings etc!"
"Not that we are aware of"
Seems funny to have receipts for rings then.

lots of oil out of crank breather hose and hard to start. I bet its had a laydown for a sleep in transit. If the air filter is dripping full of oil the bike isn't goint to want to run.

Low on compression too though.

Presuming he's checked the compression correctly with WoT of course.

I don't believe the story, why would he say in q&acorncerning new rings etc "Not that I am aware of"then produce a reciept! Just get a refund ASAP

Be careful if you get it going there might be dodgy frame or swing arm welding, also is false advertising, to say it has no issues is blatant bullshit, bad luck dude so far, two final words; Disputes Tribunal.

I was thinking snagged up decompression lever or auto decompressoras well. Bike had laydown -low compression. oil dripping. HMM OPmaybee you are right Maybee the seller is a crook but before thinking that I'd check the bike over carefully. Whip the lid off the airbox and see if its full of oil. Have a look on the outside of the cylinder head you'll see a cable leading up there, trace it to both ends and make sure nothing is bent or twisted

Thanx dude, its sorted now.i got pissed with it this morning, and the hell sore foot form hell.left it sitting for the day,got home,FIRST KICK!she fired up.mainfreight stowed it on its side, dickheads.hell unimpressed with them.thought something was up when no oil showed on the dipstick, when i got home it was where it shouldve been.talked to the seller,he said he rode it before it got put on the damn truck. If you want a bike transported,id advise NOT to use mainfreight. And THANKYOU guys for all your help, much appreciated, good to know there are some decent people out there!

Mainfreight are useless when it comes to shipping bikes, I know of a couple of people who have used them with less than ideal results( damaged bikes). why would you just not use a reputable specialist bike mover! aka, Biketranz

And next time you buy a bike CHECK IT OVER. Dont really on traders descriptions. i think you owe an apology to the seller. Oh, and change your user name!

Normally one of the stipulations when Mainfreight transport bikes is that they are supposed to be drained of all fluids.
Seems that there is a reason for that :o)

Yeah mate,if only they stipulated that all would of been fine. Its allgood now.But ive learned a lesson thats for sure

And do yourself a favour and change the oil and oil filter to make sure you have the correct amount of fluid in there,,tad under 2 litres is about right. Make sure you crack the top oil line banjo bolt to make sure the pumps pumping oil to the head once you've done the fresh oil and filter or the thing will end up seized.and make sure you get the new oil filter in the correct way around and orientated in the correct way.Check the front frame oil filter screen for crud as well when you do the oil change.Oils measured after the bikes been run for ten mintues,,Take it round the block.stop it.Pull the dipper and check the level with the stick just sitting on top.ie.not screwed home.Regular oil changes are vital for XR/XL longevity but all Kiwis know that right.1500ks,,change oil.be religious and the thing will last forever.ignore it and it'll be had it in no time.Looked to be a good buy that bike,,I saw it but already own four XR/XL600 so didn't need another.
