I did, bought a Metro Turbo so idiot Mini owners wouldn't buy it and strip it for the engine.

It is the cross section shape of the rotor of a rotary (wankel) engine. So five linked together says "wankel wankel wankel wankel wankel." Which sounds to me like the noise made by one.

I'm just on the look out for an ERA Turbo to replace the engine for the other Metro Turbo I bought from a Mini owner.

I actually think those old escourts (the car, not the girl) are a great recipient for a rotary transplant. Seems the ideal upgrade from the crappy (crossflow!) engines they came standard with.
I wouldnt touch it, too old now so would look like a douche bag, but I still like what they have done with it.

I dont get why everyone goes on about 2doors! Same deal with the E30 BMWs - fanatics are all about 2doors. 4doors are way better cos you can take mates with ya and not worry about having to get out to let them out - and easier for the kids too. And I dont see any over the top panel gaps as stated above! Its an old car, most of them dont have tiny gaps. I like it, but not the rotor part.
