petemun ftw.

Agreed, only indicate right if you are turning right and indicate left as you pass the exit before the one you wish to take.

gammelvind, Apr 22, 5:46pm
The correct answer!

petemun, Apr 22, 5:49pm
It agitates me when opposing traffic indicate right so I slow down to give way but they fly straight through. And also when I'm going through a 2 lane roundabout straight with me on the inside with a car to my left which is also going through flick on the right indicator. Especially when I'm on my motorcycle I hit the front in panic and could easily lose the front wheel if wet

indicating !! wats that

movnon, Apr 22, 6:26pm
simple - dont indicate at all then drivers waiting have to give wayto vehicles on their right (a basic road rule).

So why did you add.

.!

tonyrockyhorror, Apr 23, 1:40pm
It's really quite simple. because the discussion is about indicating right when using roundabouts, not when to indicate left. You two are pretty slow.

pup2, Apr 23, 4:44pm
Thought you too were also a bit quicker Tony. Was joking about ".Indicate RIGHT before entering if your going more than half way round.". Not as funny when you have to explain it. It can be taken 2 ways. But hey. You are the boss

It's really quite simple. the discussion is about why people indicate right *when going straight*not when to indicate right when going right.

and the answer appears to be that they are confused . they seem to think they need some sort of indicator going the whole time they are on the roundabout
Yes kazbanz it IS easier to comply when the roundabout is bigger.
At least on a bigger roundabout the indicator mechanism doesn have a hernia when you try to get it to change from right to left while still turning right

smac, Apr 24, 6:23am
The rule governing this is worded:

"A driver who intends to leave a roundabout must, if practicable, make any left-turn signal immediately before the intended exit and after any intervening exit from a roundabout."

You have a clear defence if the size of the round-about precludes indicating in time. It's no big deal.

There's some really simple rules covering what you need to do. A bunch of people don't know them. Get over it.move on.find something interesting.

For those who quote British rules and ideas please remember that it doesnt work here- I have just done 10000ks thru UK and Western Europe and poms are worst of all when it comes to indicators. However they are generally the most likely to allow you to change lanes easily so some trade off it seems. Pommy truck drivers are excellent, those in cars just plain lazy.
