Thats what happens when you go the extra mile, they whinge anyway. But the same person would probably except a pealy miss matched gritty mess from a "real" shop and not say a word.

quater, Apr 22, 3:35pm
Is he a TradeMe member by any chance!

attitudedesignz, Apr 22, 3:39pm
Don't know, why's that.

trogedon, Apr 22, 3:40pm
You've probably done a better job than ex factory. It would've been good if he'd priced it at paintshops then gone to you. He wouldn't be moaning.

quater, Apr 22, 3:41pm
He might see ya complaining about him, complaining about the job, thats all.

attitudedesignz, Apr 22, 3:46pm
Yeah he could do but i'm tired of doing a good job for bugger all $ and then aparantly it's STILL not good enough.

grangies, Apr 22, 3:51pm
Crikey.!

What are you going to do to keep the nutcase happy!

What did you charge!. Don't be embarrassed if it's too cheap. At least you are still working making a living. Every bit of non-benefit money helps to keep the country tick along.

We would charge about 6 grand for a job like that.

bellky, Apr 22, 3:51pm
I wonder too.

gunhand, Apr 22, 3:51pm
Know how ya feel. What was the origional instruction from the owner!

quater, Apr 22, 3:52pm
If ya weren't all the way up there I would have some work for ya

whqqsh, Apr 22, 3:52pm
agree, a mate of mine is in the same boat. Putting in shitloads of extra labour to get a great job (done 3 of our cars & we're happy enough to line up another 2) for a very reasonable price yet homos bitch a moan eventhough any issues arise from previous repairs, yet wouldnt say boo if it rolled out of a panel shop looking like crap

attitudedesignz, Apr 22, 4:13pm
Make flames go away and make it black.

ok, are we ready.-

gunhand, Apr 22, 4:15pm
Theres a two word phrase this chappy needs to be told. I cant say it on here as its a public show. In fact theres several two word phrases that would suit.Hope that didnt include paint!

cowboy110, Apr 22, 4:18pm
Righto! so book the Commodore in next week and the Chevy for the week after. The cheques in the mail.

morrisjvan, Apr 22, 4:24pm
superb job, some people don't feel that they get value for money unless they bitch and moan about some little thing, it happens in all trades.

gunhand, Apr 22, 4:25pm
Hope you dont have a wife and 3 kids to support or any other adictive habit cause ya aint gunna be able to on that rate lol.
Geez a K would hardly get a motorbike painted in a shop these days let alone a large arse yank truck.

attitudedesignz, Apr 22, 4:29pm
Nah mate, i paint because after nearly 30 years i actually still enjoy it (but people like this are starting to suck the fun outa it LOL)

My other half earns very good $ and she allows me to do these jobs and i love her for it, but even she's a bit annoyed at this one.

marcos1, Apr 22, 4:30pm
1K.!.you are tucking yourself.
4k in my books.minimum.

jmma, Apr 22, 4:33pm
Put red flames back on it and tell him to go to HELL

nufix72, Apr 22, 4:34pm
That job amazing, I would pay one five and I am a real tightwad.
Not 4grand for one panel though thats silly.

v8_mopar, Apr 22, 4:41pm
1k no way 0-o

Just had me coon painted at super mates rates for $1700. Thought that was a hard price to beat

pup2, Apr 22, 4:45pm
I've been telling people about this job and how flimming good it is. I'm with jmma, spay some flat black and put some flames back on. Good luck with it

clark20, Apr 22, 4:45pm
The thing is that the rest is so good, and he feels he can moan because 1 or 2 parts are not so good. Human nature. Next time charge more.

pup2, Apr 22, 4:47pm
He done the whole truck for a small G. 4G for that job (complete paint) is still pretty darn cheap

grangies, Apr 22, 4:47pm
$1000 dollars is the bargain of the century for the customer.

What paint system did you use!

And the cheeky bugger needs to realise that the flat back and cut and polish you done, could cost more than $1000 in itself.
