This happened to me once.5 o'clock traffic, all stopped at giveway, clown behind makes no effort to stop and shoves me into car in front.Only car damaged is mine.Ins coy fixes mine then a year later removes my no claim bonus as fellow behind stated I reversed into him.WTF!When asked how they (ins) explained the damage to front of my car they suggested that i had reversed into following car at speed and bounced off and hit car in front.Went through the 1 hit 2 hit nonsense.1 Hit.Ins still say my fault. Then discovered fellow behind had had 6 claims that year and I just happened to know the local manager of his ins coy (AA Mutual).Fixed overnight. What an f'ing nightmare.

When training with the IAM ( institute of advanced motorists) I was taught that the correct distance to stop in traffic was in such a position that you could see the rear wheels on the road of the vehicle in front of you. Most people stop much closer, they would be lucky to see the boot lid never mind the tyres lol.

You are going to have a hell of a job to get stationary cars the correct distance apart when heaps of drivers follow too close when driving.

You can stop up the ass of a 4wd, but have to stop about 20m behind a lowered car.
