Am new at message boards but seemed a good place to vent! Had buyer hit buy now on vehicle! Then spent a week asking questions he should have asked first! I helped him sort insurance, he talked me down a couple of k then pulls out of sale! GRRR

fiatracer, May 3, 11:05am
yep - trademe is used by morons. As a seller you have every right to expect immediate payment in full, with no conditions such as "I'll take it if I can get insurance" etc.

nightboss, May 3, 11:08am
Make sure you contacts TradeMe to get fee reversed if you were charged.
Post accurate and polite feedback.
Do not name on hear as it can lead to warnings (read message board rules).
You will get plenty of sympathy here as many have had the same from other wasters.

rbcontracting, May 3, 11:22am
Have contacted trademe regarding fees. Makes me soooo mad! No I won't name on here have blacklisted him tho! Still grrrrrring

rbcontracting, May 3, 11:31am
Now wants to buy vehicle for $500 less than agreed price. I think he is insane.

fiatracer, May 3, 11:33am
you *could* say "sure, that sounds fine, but only if I can meet you at x at x o'clock". Then just don't bother because you had something better to do.

nightboss, May 3, 12:00pm
You need to take control. It is your car and you can refuse to sell to anyone at any price. Tell him that you have no intention to sell to him, you don't have to give a reason. He appears to assume you are desperate to sell, don't be. You can get his number blocked from your mobile if that is how he is contacting you and ignore emails. Sadly there are many like him, best you can do is not let him win, he needs to be taught a lesson.
If it is the one you are currently selling it looks like a fine example, good luck with the relist.

doomy999, May 3, 12:05pm
People like you annoy me too.
you come on here then whinge and do nothing about it.Then you wonder why this sort of stuff happens so frequently.
here's an idea for you. When the buyer signed up for this site, he agreed to trademe's terms and conditons.
He cannot wrangleout of those conditions unless you let him.
Apply to the small claims court to have your case heard.
In the mean time send the buyer an email stating how much he owes as settlement and how much you are charging per day to store his car.
Then let him know you have filed against him in the disputes tribunal / small claims court. You can ask for all irrelevant costs which wont be awarded but he probably wont know that. So pile on all the costs you can think of.
There's a good chance you will scare him in to completing the sale.
And if not you should win judgment anyway as he has agreed to the terms of trademe and going by the Trademe's terms and conditions he now owns the car.
And no Im not going to point you to Trademe's terms and conditions.
That's home work you'll need to do.

rbcontracting, May 3, 12:07pm
Thank u nightboss! Have told him to go away! Fingers xd the next buyer is genuine.

doomy999, May 3, 12:17pm
why let him get away with it!

nightboss, May 3, 12:21pm
What Doomy999 suggests is an option that may get results but will take a long time and require energy and the right sort of backbone from you. As you have now relisted respondant would have strong defence in dispute hearing. (Yes Doomy999, I do have recent experience with Disputes Tribunals before you ask!)
Also, be aware that C. the Artist may be reading this thread.

hopie, May 3, 12:32pm
Is it the 6.5!

if so, is it certed! genuine question.

rbcontracting, May 3, 12:43pm
Not sure if i should be answering questions on here. Please feel free to text the number on the auction.

nightboss, May 3, 12:44pm
Perfect reply.
Q&A for that auction is not here.

rbcontracting, May 3, 12:45pm
Am going to take your advice an see what I can do!

doomy999, May 3, 12:54pm
good on you.
Its whats needed. People with some back bone to stand up to these clowns. As nightboss says the dirtbag may find this thread. If you are going to teach the clown a lesson, it would be a very good idea to make a quick phone call to trademe and ask them to remove this thread.
Im not sure on night bosses comment about having relisted your car affecting any outcome. Maybe nightboss can elaborate more before this thread dissapears!

nightboss, May 3, 2:02pm
Relates to intent, if seller is committed to completing original sale, why relist. How can you charge storage etc for relisted item!

whqqsh, May 3, 2:19pm
aaaaand welcome to TMMB. used to be nice in here, hope your first time in doesnt rip too many nighties of the girls brigade, sounds like theyre lining up for their next merit badges

nightboss, May 3, 3:19pm
Yet again whqqsh you join in late, add nothing of value and throw a few insults around.
If you don't like the TMMB why bother with them, seems you are complaining for the sake of complaining.

whqqsh, May 3, 3:42pm
I often sit back & quietly take note of the good advice a few still offer on here. that is until theyre run down with mindless drivel from the trolls who have already admitted theyre mainly here for that reason. I used to contribute where I could but often cant be bothered, thanks for caring though. oh & post 18 is late! sorry for not being here evry minute

doomy999, May 3, 3:53pm
its funny, you seem a little upset with the posts in this thread.
I cant see any that are out of place. I cant see any trolls in this thread.
I think some very good advice has been given in here.
That a side you have been around a long time whqqsh. I think you are one of the nicer people on the message board. I personally really like you.
Why get upset at the trolls. It's funny, if people werent so quick to try to go on the attack or do their best to put down others then trolls would dissapear.I love playing the part of the troll. It often shows how bad natured others are and how quick they are to go on the attack and try to put you down. So who really are the bad ones. The trolls having some harmless fun or the people who are losing the plot over nothing and doing the name calling, until of course they realised they have just been made fun of. lol

any way, for what its worth, I think your cool.

cheers whqqsh.

kazbanz, May 3, 4:01pm
OP--welcolm to my world --wont you come on in. Take a seat and enjoy the wonderfull easy life of car sales.

rbcontracting, May 3, 4:08pm
Would just like to say thank u for the advice guys! Mmm don't think I'll make a habit of selling vehicles, that's for sure!

richynuts, May 3, 7:08pm
Nah The potential buyer wouldn't give a toss, more likely have better luck telling him that you have another buyer interested in the car for more than what he offered.

rbcontracting, May 4, 2:42am
I think you are right there. Am very very disappinted at trademe as they have declined my refund of fees. Buyer hit buy now for $21k and then said he'll pay $16. And now because I pulled out of the sale I'm down $$$.
