Odo aint moved much for a car that travls 600 km a week has it!

maybe he got it fixed! After all it is listed a month after the first. He has dropped the "as is where is" and answered a question that asks about rust and leaks. I guess one has to check it out to be sure. Then again why wouldn't you mention you had heaps of work done on the car!

he can do whatever he wishes to do with it. He's had it a month so perhaps his story is true about being given a newer model. His buy now may be $3k but his reserve could be a more reasonable $2000-2500. Who is to say that he hasn't fixed up the minor issues (and lets face it they were minor issues for a 20 year old car) in the whole month he's had it. Don't forget it's moved from Christchurch to north of Wellington which doesn't exactly cost nothing either, so there's $500-600 worth of plane fares, ferry crossings and fuel right there. The answer he gave you about the clear coat seemed honest enough. Are you just bitter because you missed out the first time round!

no not bitter at all, im going to buy a car, was going to hit he buy now,. i couuldnt give shit if he makes a profit off me, the last car i brought off here was the same deal, someone brought it and onsold it. I just want honest answers when i ask a question. lucky i did some research first

I would ask him specifically about the fuel gauge, the boot gas struts and the engine oil leak referencing the previous auction rather than dart around asking if anything could be wrong with it. That way he knows you mean serious business and would be more inclined to be completely honest.

I just wont buy that car now, ill keep looking, i just liked it coz it low ks, im not dealing with someone who wont be honest. even if i do ask him i doubt he would answer it, as that would jeopardise his auction, its not exactly cheapfor a car of that year, as i say i liked the low ks.
christhebuild3r,
May 3, 7:49pm
i had 3 bids on up to $2500 where have they gone!
phillip.weston,

I would agree that $3k is too much even though it has done low kms - it's still a 20 year old. I would be looking at late 90s cars with 150-200,000kms.

i'd just be blardy frank and point out the list from the previous auction that he bought off and ask if those been fixed. nice, plain simple and straight to the point. that way he knows you mean business.

as i said not bitter at all, i had bid on up to $2500, have text the person, was genuine buyer, was even going to hit the buy now, just annoyed my questions haven't been answered truthfully. The last car i brought was off F1nz, he does the same, buys cars on here and sells them, But he was straight up about everything.

better to view car in person if your keen to buy. Then you can make your own judgement whether the issues have been fixed or not.
christhebuild3r,

i just havent had time, but yes i will be now. i havent been burnt on here yet, this will be my third car i have brought off trademe. i guess i better be more careful

So if i transport my car around the country will that make worth more, if so im might send it to Stewart island tonight, then send it back in a couple of days, thats got to add around $2000 to the price tag!

That sux really.
christhebuild3r,
May 4, 7:47am
Scalpings not the problem, good on the guy for trying to make a buck, everyone has to do something, its just the lack of honesty.
hopie,
May 4, 7:56am
im yet to see how he is being dishonost. He has answered your question and he clearly states you can go view the car. go view it before you go slinging off and calling this person names.
kazbanz,

See if I have this right. WITHOUT asking specific questions re the minor faults you are assuming the seller is telling lies. For gosh sakes it would take about 3 hours to fix ALL the faults and would cost about $400 if that. Im betting the "oil leak" is/was the normal Nissan rocker cover gasket weep. EVERY nissan I trade in I give the engine a wash down because they ALWAYS have a light oil film on the rocker cover lip and you cant see if theres more seriousleaks untill its cleaned-but 9 times out of 10 its only the rocker cover gasket.
christhebuild3r,
May 4, 8:04am
The fact that he says he used for commuting 600km a week but the kms are still the same as the first auction. 30% of the clear coat is coming off, yet when I ask him he says its nothing major,
and I have yet to have a reply if all the other faults have been fixed
And I had bid up to $2500, with one person bidding above me up $2560 and for no reason they have now been removed.
tonyrockyhorror,

Or. he could save everyone's time and just be up front and honest about what he knows about the car. How about that. or is that out of the realms of possibility!
Then there's the 600km/week he claims to have been doing yet it's done just 600km since March 13th.
