A good idea but look at improving the quality of drivers and roads first. You just have to drive in auckland on a wet day to notice how poor the driving is. Once you get the smallest bit of rain and all the smashes!

The only places in aussie where the limit is 110 kph, are rural 2x 2 lane roads seperated by a wide (read 40 metre) median strip such as parts of the bruce highway. Not a lot of them here though.[/quote
Northern Territory
the Stuart Highway and other major highways
are restricted to 130 kilometres an hour, with a default speed limit of 110 kilometres an hour on other roads.

I think that Toll roads should have to be 120km/h, that would encourage people to use them and make them feel like they are getting value for their toll. The toll roads around here are all easily capable of coping with that speed.

That piece of road should be closed off sometimes to the general public for special events at pre arranged times paid by the people who use it,just imagine what speed one could get up to on that road.Think I feel the need to go to a racetrack lol.

If it helped pay for it and was done at a time as so not to inconvenience people why not!
(actually the answer to that is probably beurocratic and liability nonsense, pity)

That would be reasonable on a motorway, or other decent road with a median barrier or space.
120 on state highways.
60 on arterial routes in towns/cities.
40 in the 'burbs where kiddies play, and 30 passing a primary school.
