Untill you need to get rego for the car or until you get pulled up and the detail is pulled by the cop and it's showen you no longer have a wof after 6 months

plead ignorance! dont touch it, or tamper with it, and as far as you are concerned it was a legally obtained WOF, and you are following the date on the paperwork

I think ignorance dose not work as an excuse these days.
gadgit3,
May 15, 7:59pm
I think you will find on "the paper work" the correct expiry date will be written. It's a simple mistake and the inspector has garbed the 2013 label book instead of the 2012 book.

Check carjam (ensure you update the information) and see what the date on the system is. If it is indeed 18 months then sweet, but please take responsibility for ensuring your car is in good nick!
gadgit3,

It wont be a 18 month wof on the system as the system automatic gives the inspector the new expiry date and you can't change it.

The correct date will be in the system, just the wrong book used. I like to keep the books well separated, in my shop I used to keep them in different cabinets, but where I am now someone always drops the next year book on the top, then it gets picked up for a 6 month WoF.

Wouldnt want the dude to get in trouble hes a nice guy. Only time cops will know is if they pull me over for bad driving and look it up on the computer. Lucky I passedmy driving test in the UK , its easy to hidehere because the kiwis are so bad at driving haha cops are chasing them instead .

jsc1,
May 15, 8:30pm

May 15, 8:32pm
You could probably pull of the ignorance angle then
gadgit3,
May 15, 8:33pm
If the issue is found by a cop or other and reported then this inspector could loose his AVI pending an investigation. so if you feel you are doing no damage then shoot for the stars.

Oh ya tugging at my heart strings now, but i never win anything stuffit
mk3crazy,
May 15, 8:40pm
How is that even possible there are only 12 dots for each month on the sticker!
gadgit3,
May 15, 8:43pm
But you haven't won anything! you just have an incorrect year sticker on your car. Which has the potential to turn into an inconvenience more then a bonus.
gadgit3,
May 15, 8:47pm
Any car less then 6 years old gets a 12 month WoF. so the WoF issuer has a 2012 lable book for 6 month WoF and a 2013 book for 12 month WoF. in this case the expiry date would have been 15/11/2012 but because the AVI garbed the 2013 book and punched the 11th month .
jsc1,
May 15, 8:55pm
Its a win to me 18 month warrant woo hoo
a18a,
May 15, 8:58pm
That's gonna look really suss if you get pulled up between now & May next year (or between now & November this year if your car is younger than 6 years old)
