Mind you, straight, open roads more of a nodding-off risk that windy roads etc, plus the familiarity factor possibly a concern. Call me sexist, but on average less of a problem for a male than a female due to differences in stamina.

auido books could be good for a commuter - though they are too damned expensive.[/quote]

My Wife used to commute 60km each way from Manukau City to Orewa 5 times a week for about 12 months. The car ran very economically during this time.I did a fortnight comuting from Manukau to Thames 100km each way so probably did about 10 trips at 200km per day and covered 2000 km in a fortnight.I loved it but it would be a bit expensive with the cost of fuel these days but if you can get around that then go for it,you will love it.

You're stuck between a rock and a hard place. You might enjoy driving that distance for a week or two and then you've been through all your CDs, the ipood is boring, you realise how much pollution and cost dragging your arse to work and back is, the weather turns crap (Winter coming).I'll stop there.

commen, not unusual

petrol scarcity will kill it off tho

i love the 90 second commute i now have, & will never go back to 50K a year just going to work & back

Wouldn't a male's testosterone-based desire to take corners at the highest speed possible balance that out!
