BTW taking more than one line to explain the basis of your unsound reasoning doesn't make you right. It just makes you long windedly wrong.

Go empty yourself - you are overflowing again.

That is sometimes true but you would deduce that by looking at the car and seeing how good it is.

Do you have to argue about everything!

different opinions aside, and back to my original topic,
I've spoken to a legal person and indeed he says theres a case that needs answered in that i was misled, but as it doesnt affect the car by way of how it operates, i have to decide what outcome i want.
Ideally, i'd like the other owners to get off the register but that isnt going to happen so the only other option i can think of is financial but, how do i put a financial value on this!

If you got the car from a dealer then the Fair Trading Act applies. You have been misled and intent is not a factor.

To return to topic.
OP your recourse is with the disputes tribunal.
But you can't just rock up to the tribunal and say "I want $xxxx because the car had 6 owners" (well you can, but you'd lose), you're going to have to prove 2 things to the mediator.
1. that the vehicle is worth less because it had 6 owners 2. that the amount it was worth less is in the region of $xxxx
And I'd suggest that both of these things would be pretty hard to prove.
If you ask me, you're probably going to put in a lot of time, effort and stress, for very little return if any.

Gadget -sorry dude you arewrong and right at the same time When a car is a FRESH import be it brand new or a second hand car It is issued with an MR2a, The dealership can CHOOSE to register the vehicle into their name or directly into the purchasers name For this exact reason our dealership always registers the car directly into the new owners name Trade in vehiclesmust of course get put into the dealerships name.
Oftentimes a caris registered to the dealershipthen transfered to the actual owner. When traded it often goes to the dealerships name then wholesaled and into their name then sold to a small second hand dealership adding another name. So 5 "owners" but only one long tern real owner.

My commodore has had 18 owners. Do I get a cookie!

Yea being a Toyota dealership we dont direct import used cars TNZ do this for us and we buy from them as Sig or SBT. So everything goes into our name before the new owner. Was unawear importing a used car was like a new car deal when it comes to ownership. But then I though we were only talking about pre regested trade ins lol

Is the ownership history available prior to sale or only once you get record in the mail!
kazbanz,

gadgit-something weird there. The guys at the sig class workshop take the cars to MR2a. They don't rego the cars. I don't get the point in you guys buying your non sig class stuff via a middleman when you could buy direct. -Heyy all the better for us little guys I guess

Nightboss--the "darlings" don't print the previous registered owners any more-Just the numbers of registered owners.
gadgit3,

Franchize agreement dosn't allow to under cut TNZ by direct import. 90% of the cars we buy in from sig are lease buy backs and referbed rentals. This covers us for any unforseen faults by letting TNZ take the warranty and rework costs. Better for both parties in most cases.
