Well that settles it, if YOUR WIFE doesn't like the MX5 then the OP should certainly not buy one.

Im building a v6 powered lotus 7 at the moment, but my next car will be a v8 powered mx5.i cant quit understand the mentality whereby if youare driving say an MG .its a guy driving a classic car.but if you are driving a MX5 which are prity similar in a number of ways to a MG you must be gay
doesnt make scents to me

But does it make sense!

Who nose!

nightboss, May 23, 9:04am
Not "quit", "prity" similar but "doesnt" make "scents"

oooh, sounds interesting. What engine! have you seen the Stalker [!] cars out of the USA that use a domestic V6, I think from the Ford Ranger. Quite successful in autocrossing over there. And a V8 mx5 - I've been in lexus and Chev/holden Clubsort R8 powered mx5s. what we're you thinking! There's some argument for the Ford smallblock being the easiest choice.

what a homosexual

whqqsh, May 23, 9:50am
not at all, she just doesnt like your pink MX5 with warehouse spinning hubcaps & drives over them in her VR6

whqqsh, May 23, 9:54am
good, happy you see it my way. BTW we were asked for opinions (or 'our verdict') & thats but one input towards that so dont get so tetchy. sheesh!

racetoy, May 23, 2:10pm
3.8 holden v6 its a copy of a stalker frame probably will be supercharged
(superstalker) holden running gear, brembo brakes,.i might even paint it pink and hang a mx5 body on it

To quote Michael Gambon. "I used to be a homosexual but I was forced to quit because it made my eyes water."

The Mazda luce would be my choice of V6 extremely handsome engine, with enough NA tech' to roll up to 150MPH in a 7, quote unquote.

racetoy, May 24, 6:30am
yep a nice engine .but look up stalker cars specs .supercharged 3.8 155mph.still see mx5's as ok.its just a bloody car

Brilliant Jazz!I was trying to think of a polite way of saying that those who worry about whether a car looks girly (or manly as well, I suppose) must have a fragility about their sexuality and how they may be perceived by others. Now, I don't need to say that!
