something I don't usually bother with due to the fact it's propaganda, but I was amused that the truck driver that sandwiched the Toyota between his truck and the one in front got a $159 infringement offence notice, while the kid with the unregistered ute with no plates got one for $597.

That just goes to show where their focus really is. Just like ours, it's not with road safety. It's merely paying lip service to that aspect. It's all about extortionate taxation.

The message: drive as poorly as you like without actually injuring anyone. As long as you pay your road taxes we really don't care.

hopie, Apr 13, 9:03am
and that WRX driver. only worried about getting his car back.

spead, Apr 13, 9:10am
the cop ticketed the respective people correctly. Im not sure what the issue is!

andy61, Apr 13, 9:12am
Did you notice the `Toyota` sandwiched between the 2 trucks had H badges on it.Looked like a Honda Civic.

patiki1, Apr 13, 9:40am
How about the truck driver nearly killed the lady

tonyrockyhorror, Apr 13, 9:44am
Can't you read!

tonyrockyhorror, Apr 13, 9:47am
No, I wasn't particularly interested in what the car was. Just the fact the person who crashed got off much more ligtly than the person that didn't.

kwaka5, Apr 13, 10:01am
It was proven that speed was not an issue with the truck just following distance was a little too close. It happens everyday on the motorway. The kid has been doing the no rego thing for quite a while if you saw the start of that clip and just doesn't learn. And the fact he's a mouthy little snotbag doesn't help his case. If he had been straight up in the first place might have helped his cause.

tonyrockyhorror, Apr 13, 10:08am
that's a myth. By being 'straight up' you're just giving them the admission they want.

You're still missing the point that the cost of crashing through poor driving is only 1/3rd of the cost for failing to pay the governemnt some money. I guess that's what indoctrination gets you.

dr.doolittle, Apr 13, 10:26am
So why dont you do something about it.

tonyrockyhorror, Apr 13, 10:32am
I do. I make submissions with every stupid law change. But that makes no difference - they do what they want because the majority are fools and are happy to be lied to and believe the lies.

net_oz, Apr 13, 10:39am
Not as clever as you think you are then.

tonyrockyhorror, Apr 13, 10:42am
I'm no fool, unlike you.

carmedic, Apr 13, 10:52am
Because the majority are fools they are simply oblivious to the lies.
A stupid mans a happy man!

canajanz1, Apr 13, 10:52am
It's hard to get submissions taken seriously when they are based on vindictive rhetoric and little fact<LOL>
The great 'they' who (over!) govern us dont take much notice when letters ooze attitude.First impressions and solid facts go a lot farther.

tonyrockyhorror, Apr 13, 10:54am
You going back to that GPS thread to explain your claim so I can shoot it down!

Nah, didn't think so.

canajanz1, Apr 13, 12:08pm
You SAID you didnt need an explanation because you already had all the FACTS
So . no <LOL>probably not

flitt, Apr 13, 12:36pm
1. The fine for THAT incident was a 1/3 of the total sum fined. NOT generally as you say. A sweeping statement with no substance.

2. Not displaying registration plates is not the same as not paying money, as you imply.

3. Indoctrination! pfffft. Lame.

kwaka5, Apr 13, 1:18pm
And that somehow makes it OK!No it doesn't make it ok but it happens. We are talking about a stopping incedent that happened around 4 cars up to begin with + Truck infront and then car. The truckie had tried to stop but with a full load it's kinda hard. It happens.
That cop had it in for him from the moment he saw him. Besides, it's not illegal to be 'mouthy' otherwise they'd have locked me up and thrown away the key long ago! . Think if you saw the story you would see that the little bugger had been doing this thing for a while and just happened to actually get caught this time and mouthy never helped the situation. He's lucky the cop didn't decide to do a roadworthy check on it too. Find all faults and ping him for all those aswell.
that's a myth. By being 'straight up' you're just giving them the admission they want. . It's not a myth. Has gotten me off a couple of speeding tickets before. Be up front and honest and not a prick and it does help.

tonyrockyhorror, Apr 13, 1:22pm
Too scared you'll look a bigger fool. Fair enough.

tonyrockyhorror, Apr 13, 1:25pm
1. I'm talking about THAT incident - crashing into another vehicle. What's your point!

2. No difference. He didn't wreck someone else's car just by not having plates and it would be impossible to.

3. You're just another indoctrinated one.

tonyrockyhorror, Apr 13, 1:29pm
It doesn't happen to me. But you're still completely missing the point that it's much worse to sandwich the vehicle of an innocent party than it is to just have an unregistered vehicle and the fines don't reflect that. Ergo the priorities are all wrong. Just like here. No demerit points for running a red light.

flitt, Apr 13, 1:58pm
It's a silly & childish point you're making. You have arrived at your conclusion from the outcome of one single motor vehicle collision. I am disappointed I have retaliated thus far. I suggest you get a life.

tonyrockyhorror, Apr 13, 2:12pm
Oh, I see. It must just be childish and silly if you can't sucessfully argue against the obvious inequity. It couldn't possibly be that your position is without merit.

tonyrockyhorror, Apr 13, 2:14pm
I'll lay it down in the most simple language I possibly can for the brain-dead:

Crashing into someone - big risk of injury. No registration: no risk of injury.
