My eyes glaze over a little bit more every time some new carbon fibre hyper-car is unveiled - ALWAYS amid a flood of hyperbole about how it has a zillion horsepower and a squillion foot-pounds of torque, making it twice as orgasmic (on paper) as whatever was the hottest hyper-car that it was fashionable to rave about last year.

The little mitsubishi turbo engined Mk2 Escort the boys next door are working on looks just gorgeous, and it sounds AMAZING every time they peel out into the street to take it for a test run.

When I was 9 years old I had posters of the Lamborgini Countach and the Ferrari F40 on my bedroom wall. I just feel like I've grown up and done all that now.
