I can remember when I was an early teen back when the Monaro/VX/Y were new and me buying Motor magazines. The Monaros and VX/Y HSVs were quicker around their Aussie test tracks than all the new at the time jappas and gave the E46 M3s and B5 RS4 a run for its money. all from a tarted up Aussie family sedan cum taxi. I'd dig em out for reference but they are at the olds house.

correct me if im wrong but i have heard that holden did bring out a kingswwod with a 20b rotory engine .IMO that would be the worsed holden ,nice looking car but with a torque less shitbox motor shoulda stuck to the v8

I agree with this actually, you want to compare you have to compare apples with apple. Not oranges with apples and the Honda Accord is not in the same category.

What a weird comparison, the Sunbird had the worst power and economy of any car in its class, used a gutless 1900cc Opel engine which was replaced by an equally bad cut down 6cyl red engine in the form of the Starfire 4.But granted it handled OK with its RTS (about the only plus point),on the other hand an AU XR6 outperformed both the standard and supercharged versions of the VT/VX,whilst delivering similar economy.A non turbo Impreza or Legacy has a bit of a handicap re performance and economy compared to other 2.0L cars because of the AWD system, nothing else,but is otherwise considered to be a reasonable vehicle.!

NO, I owned a VT HSV GTS and it was an iron 304 stroked to 350. $97000 new and 0-100 in just over 5 seconds. Mine was number 249 of 400 made. Man I wish I still had it!
