Surprised nobody has mentioned Ken Smith so far.He would be my pick, nearly 50 years of competitive racing and still keeping up with the best of them in the F5000 pack.

Not sure if Shane VG should be on a list like that just yet, he is yet to win an international title etc. but given his current form he will earn his place.

Exactly, the people you have all nominated are good, great and amongst them the greatest. That is the list.
buzzin89,
May 27, 9:41am
I'm not sure you can accurately pick a greatest as many drivers/riders are from different eras, Crosby competed successfully on 2 and 4 wheels. Jim Richards and Rod Millen both competed on gravel, dirt and tarseal, circuit and road course. I think the greatest motorsport competitor isthe ones that finish at the top of their class, that may sound like fence sitting but to me they are all champions
neville48,

Well I think Peter Brock was New Zealands greatest racing driver ever.[ there ,that should get them going, oz claims anything/body we have so there, back at ya]
kaymay88,
May 27, 12:54pm
ivan mauger should well be up there, but so should andrew stroud along with a few of the other riders that have competed at/won the greatest race in the world - the IOM TT.
