am running a 202 at the moment, has a carb i cant identify on it (wil upload pic later). what sort of carb would be good for an upgrade! bare in mind id like to keep running my LPG aswell so would prefer a bolt on replacement and something with a manual choke as it doesnt like the cold

Are you positive it's a "carb" Looks more like a Throttle body designed for Lpg only. Can you run the motor on petrol in it's current form! Can you get a photo of the front of the carb!

i havent run it on petrol myself as the petrol tank hasnt been in the vehicle in a while. however i was told it does run with petrol. is it legal to run strictly on LPG and not petrol! will upload a better pic tonight

No problems either way as long as the lpg is certed.

almost ugly enough to be a single barrel holley. will have a look in my shed today see what lpg gear I have. remember that dual fuel is a compromise though, if its tuned perfectly for one it will run rough on the other. personally I would be finding a manifold to run a 2 barrel weber and run it on petrol, had my time with lpg.

Thats why you fit a "dual curve" module. Brilliant invention, would have loved it on my old 186 & cng but she ran fine on both fuels anyway

ignition was never mentioned and looks like a factory coil and distributor from the picture. maybe cng is slightly different tuning to lpg but in all the dual fuel vehicles I owned it was always a compromise between the 2, even with bigger spark higher compression etc

just had a thought though, seems on the vehicles I have had it on the bigger the cube the bigger the difference, had a 200cui that run okish on both, the 250s were disapointing, and only kept it dual fuel on the 351 incase I run out of lpg in the wops. OP I should have a mixer for a 2/4 barrel holley sitting somewhere if you were interested.

could you throw up a pic coon! might be able to work a deal for it and the BFGs i have if your interested!

i looks like a single barrel stromberg maybe, i found a weber 32/36 was really good on my 202, i originally had a 350 2 barrell holley but found the weber was more responsive and more economical
jezz43,
Jun 28, 6:06pm
was the weber petrol only or could you run LPG through it!
mrfxit,
Jun 28, 6:07pm
THAT very much STILL looks like a simple throttle body for Lpg Theres NO fuel bowl.
jezz43,
Jun 28, 6:10pm
so question is, what can/should i put on to replace it! i want dual fuel but i also want to have a bit of grunt behind it (as much as a 202 can give)
xacoon,

man thats an ugly setup haha, yeh no pertol going through that any time soon. would hazard a guess and say its a stromberg stud pattern if you wanted something bolt on, once again I may have a mixer for one of those too, although I would be more inclined to find a new manifold altogether and fit a (preferably) weber or a holley. a 28/36 I think would be ideal, or as bubbles suggested a 32/36. I like the adm weber as a 2 barrel but I am running them on a slightly larger cube engine. bubbles has once again hit the nail on the head with the holley call. agricultural, better off with progressive secondaries for throttle response and economy, are easy to get parts for and mindless to tune though, which is part of their appeal I guess.

so go for the weber over the holley! where can i get a new setup! manifold, carb etc. as mentioned before, i want to keep dual fuel, i dont care too much for cost. just want it done right.
yea i know its an ugly setup lol. was purchased like that. a farmers kid bought it, "did it up" then lost interest.

sorry got a bit busy never quite made it to the shed. you can get lpg mixers for webers, I think I know of one for an adm I might be able to snaffle if you wnt that route, but the 28/36 and the 32/36 are different altogether. the adm runs roughly the same cfm as the adm from memory, I reckon the 28/36 for a daily driven 202 would be ideal. not sure how plentiful these are though.
all ive found so far. what pisses me off is about 4 months ago i sold a 32/36 weber from my ford escort panelvan for peanuts, now that i actually could use it i cant find any 2nd handers
xacoon,

personal choice, some swear by holley, I wont ever purchace one. run edelbrocks and webers, bit harder to get parts for but I love the chase.
xacoon,

if you go the 32/36 route they are easier to get parts in NZ for them than the adm

can't tell without the list numbers, but my money would be on a 350. 500cfm usually get snapped up pretty quick for reasonably good money.

If I remember correctly, the 28/36 was factory fitted to the 2ltr cortina's
jezz43,

not sure, been hunting around and cant find jack sh1t anywhere. i dont mind buying a new manifold etc or making mine fit. just not sure on a carb. new are fairly expensive so would prefer a 2nd hander. is there anything else other than mentioned above that may be a cheaper alternative! i was looking at a Vk injection kit also, but cant be arsed chasing up a loom
xacoon,

have an adm at a push, but it is set up for a 250, and parts are a bitch to get for them. so as a last resort give us a yell, but I would keep searching for a 28/36 or a 32/36 in the meantime.
xacoon,
Jun 28, 7:30pm
well it would bolt straight on to your manifold at least. they work. nothing exciting. easy enough to find mixers for (well it used to be) would be under jetted for your 202 though and they dont have changable jets like holleys or webers

well ive been searching for a few hours now, and no 2nd hand stuff, may have to buy a new weber from palmside lol
